Town are playing a Mansfield all but doomed to relegation.

An opportunity to put yet another nail in their coffin.

Four nil up with twenty to go their defender and goalie have an on-field tantrum leaving Will Grigg an open goal to score the fifth.

Of course he, like SKS today, will stick it away then run to their fans celebrating...

Elphicke defended her husband against his sexual assault charges *AFTER* he'd been found guilty before then taking his seat unopposed. But yeah, this is exactly like a fictional game of football you've made up in your head.

I'd prefer it if the leader of the Labour Party actually applied some scruples and moral judgement and didn't allow any tom dick or harry to defect from the Tory party to the Labour party. Is there anybody in the Tory party who he wouldn't actually welcome with open arms? Maybe Rees-Mogg will saunter over next.

I don't know why you don't have higher standards for your party tbh mate.

Remembering you've repeatedly and consistently endorsed the Lib' Dem's who shredded their manifesto to leap into bed with the Tories, Ian.

Seems to me the more you rub your hands together hoping for a Labour implosion, the better they do at the polls...

Yeah, I get that.

But everyone realises this is just a short term stunt to embarrass Sunak and, perhaps, draw a few Tory voters towards Labour.

Does anyone honestly think the uber hypocrite low life Elphick will turn up at branch meetings? Be anything but an amusing memory after the election?

Nah, mate...

PS: seem to remember Blair accepting support from Tebbit before the '97 election (part of a policy to get computers into every school, from memory)...

From Tory Scum to Labour luvvie in just a cpl of short steps across the house, you couldn’t make it up!
Mind you with polls forecasting a hung Parliament Labour need all the help they can get because they’re clearly not up to the task alone!

George Galloway is offering them a deal based on reaching agreement on proportional representation.

I watched the clip u posted the link to. Very interesting.
I’m a Farage fan and even though Galloway clearly isn’t he had the grace to acknowledge his parties get hundreds of thousands of votes and no representation!

That one again, done to death... it was months of uncertainty as a minority govt struggled, jump into bed with Labour who came a distant second, or join the party who got most votes and add some ying to their yang.

No, I'm just cautioning that we all remember the Kinnock year when Labour couldnt lose - but didnt. And you kept saying feet on ground, we havent won yet... but now you seem to think you have! Except we havent had an election yet, and even when we have getting in power is the easy bit, doing something good afterwards will be a whole lot harder....

There is only one poll that matters. April inflation out shortly, interest rate decisions in May or June following that.... its not over till the fat lady sings...

(and the LDS did proportionately as well as Labour at the locals in terms of seats won... and the SNP have a new leader who ought to be able to stop some of the rot north of the border)

B****Y hell, did Blair tear up the manifesto to get elected there or is working together for the greater good actually what politics is supposed to be about and not tribal warfare as some of you seem to prefer?

Really doesn't seem to be going down that way. As per the Guardian:

Quote

Defections are supposed to damage the party losing the defector, not the one welcoming them, but almost 24 hours after Natalie Elphicke’s ultra-surprise conversion to the Labour cause, at PMQs yesterday, it is starting to look as thought this might cause more bother for Keir Starmer than for Rishi Sunak. As the Guardian reports, the decision to admit the Boris Johnson-supporting rightwinger has gone down badly with Starmer’s MPs, and presumably with Labour members more widely.

whether you approve of his policies and beliefs - and I most certainly do not - you have to appreciate how good he is at gathering support for a cause and galvanising the masses behind a slogan or belief.

A bit like Johnson.

If only he'd decide to get behind some of the real issues in our society and the application of rules or benefits, we might get them changed...whether that is unfair rules around free child hours at nursery or two tier retirement provisions...

does it really matter if he personally got elected as an MP, how long was he an MEP? And of course there was an election to achieve the one thing he really wanted... Edited to add he was reelected 4 times - so he won 5 elections then....

And yes, like Hitler, flawed personalities are often really good at rousing up the masses...they could have said like Scargill, but of course he didnt bother with a vote to see if he would lose ;)
