You don't offer someone a new contract when you're clearly, clearly romping the league if you have no intention of using them in the division above. This will have all been planned for (like or or not) so just relax and enjoy it.
Unless you're hoping to get a fee for him. -

For the non league run of the mill teams it's well accepted as it's their cup competition but as the National league make it a priority as ie sat games and take over the league the bigger teams fond it a massive hindrance ask Stockport and Notts County as they realised they needed to get out of this league by any means
Nothing to do with National League
All FA competitions from Premier League down the pyramid have priority over league matches. -

I got a couple of hundred but also about 50 on altringham top 7 finish. Paid for most of my ticket next season anyway.
Built up my freebies and stuck it all on us to win it next season. 75 on
Collected £120 as I missed the longer odds. Put it all back on (£60 ew) at 10/1 this season. -

Not sure about 2yrs but presumably it was necessary.
Stockport thought he was good enough for L1, Which is where he will be for his final year, albeit a little older.
Quote nicked from 72cast:
"There’s signing a 34-year-old on a two-year deal and then there’s signing a 34-year-old Paddy Madden on a two-year deal"
