I think he probably would like cum changed to come as your name could signify something very different....

Totally correct, and I know for a fact from previous threads that I am not alone in hoping for a change.

I guess you weren’t around in the 70’s nor during the era when it was chanted in the Kop at every corner. If you want I’ll change it to ‘Cum on U Blu-uez’’ which is probably nearer what I wanted but it won’t help you to come to terms with your apparent school kid embarrassment. CFC fans have an accent after all, numbskulls.

No idea about Sophocles but I have been 'around' since the 1958/59 season,by which I mean supporting not born, and from then until now the spellings has always been COME on u/you blues.COYB

Just to balance your arguments which I agree to some extent but money talks and lots of fans hide behind our community structure and make out it’s just down to PC. He’s had lots of money to throw about thanks to the Kirks some of which frankly was wasted but with carrots you attract EL players who can earn similar wages at a lower level due to his previous reigns (that’s a compliment btw).
Lots of fans have criticized Wrexham but we’ve done the same thing with backers who don’t live in Hollywood nor crave the publicity, just genuine supporters who’ve supported the club for years.
So glad we’re 23 points ahead but no one anywhere on this thread seems to recognize the financial factor, just blindly believe it’s a miracle produced by ‘The Messiah’
I’ll leave you with this question: where would we be tomorrow if they withdrew their support ? Could we survive on 8,000 attendances to pay the wage bill for such a big squad, not to mention the backroom support, hotels for away matches etc ?
Don’t get me wrong I haven’t got anything against PC who lets others do the talking and keeps a pretty low profile compared to most managers. It’s the fans who are responsible for the most part for this false image. We just need to accept certain facts that’s all

Interested to know what money Cook has wasted in your opinion.
Pray tell us by how much Bromley and Barnet were funded per their last accounts filed? Could they survive on crowds of 2000/2500 without external funding?

We’ve also had Cook and Marc White both say we’re not the best funded club in the division.

To be fair,I think the previous incumbent was the one throwing the cash around, not Paul Cook, and hasn't he cut the wage bill while providing probably the best football seen at this level ever. Unlike some clubs, we haven't been able to bring in a glut of strikers, and neither have we had two Hollywood A listers feeding the club.

Put another way, we benefited because we have a better, fitter, squad which itself has benefited from Cook's rotation policy keeping virtually all of them fit and ready to play as and when called upon.

It is at the business end of a season when clubs with a good team but not such a strong squad suffer as players can end up playing when they should otherwise be rested which can lead to more matches being missed than initially hoped for.

It is our squad and not our team that has won us promotion this season. And, I'm not getting ahead of myself when I say that.
