We made the mistake of waiting for the 540 train which didn?t turn up until 615 because someone was on the track at Walsall.

We pulled out the car park at what, 5.20, and made it back to The Barrel at 7.55 somehow for a 66 mile journey. Our coach driver decided to go a different way to all the others it seems.

We were just about strolling up to Armistad at that time after another hour and a half drinking in Brum....let the train take the strain next time!

Regarding embarrassment there is footage on Facebook titled Chesterfield Yoof showing a bit of baiting by the town on the platform. Led by two normally respectable mid 50s blokes I know, who will probably be cringing when they see it....

Alcohol is wonderful thing!

Agree, thought we did well 1st half. And how the push on Sparks for the corner wasn?t given I?ll never know.

That said, we were shocking in the 2nd half. Their keeper didn?t have a save to make, we had no drive and the subs were bewildering in terms of who and when.

To be fair looking at it again that one hand touch rather than shove wouldn't have knocked a 5 year old over but I admit at the time I was screaming free kick and 9 times out of 10 they are given but if he stays on his feet the corner wouldn't have been given.

Got told this morning from a mate who was watching sky sports undates that they mentioned it was someone out the Walsall crowd who took over as linesman when the Referee was changed if true is that even allowed?

The linesmen didn't change from what we saw. The referee was shocking though second half!

Haha. I imagine it was all pretty embarrassing.

The dibbles nicked a young town lad on the platform. About 4 of them had him pinned to the floor. The state of the weather yesterday his mother would have needed to get his clothes straight in the wash when he eventually made it back. 🤔

Wasn't at all impressed by Walsall. Such a shame that we aren't harder to score against.

Tbe pitch hindered both teams imho

Can't see that myself. We wouldn't have bought in the likes of Fadz, Sparkes, Bim, JD, Duffy, Olakigbe etc in Jan if we didn't want to give it a right go

Exactly, plus the one(s) that got away, I reckon they were really going for it.

Think they really thought they had a good chance with all those players coming back from injury and all the additions. Unfortunately the ones we really need aren't coming back, or at least soon enough.

Why do we persist with Duffy curling his corners outta play too? Surely let him take them from the other side, and swing them in..

No complaints when Donacien gets the shirt next week...

Well not until we see him play anyway

Rusty as an old Lada in the snippets I have seen - we'll see.

Yeah it is bizarre. Thought Duffy had another good game yesterday.

Ha ha. It's made for plenty of good "ale talk" discussing the planet of origin of those charged with the task of deciding what isn't (note no is) this season.

My initial thought was it was a tackle from behind and would have been deemed a foul on halfway line. Only seen (and without much clarity) it once, so if wrong when I see highlights I will hold my hand up.

Just got back into the land of reasonable WIFI but can't find much footage, so basing it on the general consensus on here I will hold my hands up and concede it wasn't a pen. However I still maintain if the ridiculous foul given against Peppel hadn't, the outcome of the game would have been different

Left at 5.10pm from the car park opposite the main stand, got back to Town at 6.25pm in West Bars McDonalds. We avoided The A5 and Walsall ring road, coming g and going. Went through 2 villages near Brownhills and met no heavy traffic.

Wor I'm hoping to witness is proof of consistency from our new men. If it is evident then we can make a push for the p/o's.

Bump
Well, Duffy is racking up the assists/goals but the others are doing nowt. How can Michael O. continue to be selected ahead of Mandeville?

Cos Mandeville can't do 3 step overs then run into his defender, anywhere near as regularly as MO does ..

Apart from the Donny game and 20mins at Chelts. MO has been uneffective and needs to be benched.
