Why the **** have we agreed to this again…

Can’t imagine Cook will be happy, best pitch in the league last season suited perfectly to his style of football. Come the winter this time round we’ll be back playing on a farmers field like the last couple of years when the blades were here last

Garbage decision from whoever agreed to it on the board.

As the Trust reversed this state of affairs as soon as they could it's not difficult to work out who made the decision.

If true, whoever made that decisions, what a bunch of idiots

Then again, perhaps we are being paid hundreds and thousands. Perhaps they”ll actually tell us how much the deal is worth

Don't be daft.
it's a massively underused asset that can take loads more than 25ish games.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Well let our youth team or ladies play on it, I dislike us effectively promoting another club on our own patch

Let’s get their women playing on it again.

While we’re at it why not train on it, nobody has ever thought of that I bet. Save some money while the training ground pitches are bedding in.

Don't forget that when our pitch suffered the worst our manager insisted on taking training on it in addition to the blades young'uns.

Our board have now authorised heavy expenditure on our training facilities so, logically, that issue will be taken out of the equation.

Then, our board have to try and maximise income with a view to reducing losses and if Sheffield United are paying a reasonable rent for the facilities then it should make sense in that respect.

Years ago we used to play first team and Central League reserve matches at Saltergate and that pitch stood up well to that. The stadium is our biggest asset but an under used asset. Commonsense decisions made to maximise the income from that asset should not simply be dismissed as "garbage".

Read Moondog’s post, if it isn’t the trust it’ll be the one who owns the club

IMO the club need to be transparent on this. There’s clearly going to be an obvious backlash from fans on this (as this thread already shows).

They should be giving us an idea on what’s actually in it for us such as how much are they actually paying us (it better be significantly more than last time), is there an agreement on priorities over loan deals for their better youngsters, can our first team make use of their premier league training ground should ours ever be out of use from poor weather (although hopefully this won’t be an issue anymore with the improvements being made) etc….

Because at the moment it seems a really ill informed decision, with our youth team / ladies team shoved off elsewhere to Staveley.

Don’t we also have our own ground staff back looking after it unlike the outsourced job last time we did this and the pitch suffered.

I understand why people are annoyed at this, it does seem a bizarre U-Turn. However, the pitch was terrible under JR partly because he had the first team training on it full time. There is no saying that this deal will 'destroy the pitch'. Also, if this financially allows us to sign, say - Dallas? Then is it worth it?

They are a premier league outfit and probably have paid a lot of money,it's a business decision,I'm sure a pitch can handle the games

Don’t hold your breath, that is also a decision that could be reversed
