Results are of course the main way to judge a manager, but for me his coaching & player development is what sets him apart from the rest. The improvement we’ve seen in multiple players since he’s been here, some of whom we’d written off, is insane.
Williams - Age 29 - Gradually being turned into a prime Rio.
Grimes - Age 33 - Older than most, and yet improved more over the past 2 years than ever before - now unbelievably consistent.
Oldaker - Age 25 - Turned from inconsistent and a 6/7 in most games to now absolutely controlling play. Much more still to come too.
Quigley - Age 27 - I mean, this Quigley is a completely different player to pre-Cook Quigley.
Mandy - Off his game currently but he’s stepped up another level under Cook.
Dobra - Age 22 - Always talented but he’s starting to run games, he’s added end product and will no doubt be a minimum Championship talent in future.
Horton, Clements, Shecks, Berry - All visibly improving week by week and all soon to become L1 standard ballers.
There are very few managers out there who can improve players like Cook can. He’s a proper football man, cares deeply for his players, can create a winning culture, and above all he loves CFC.
My friends, we are blessed to have this man at our club.

As I’ve posted elsewhere, has a manager at levels below the Championship ever assembled a quality of squad where he can name 4- 6 changes after a win and carry on where the last starting 11 left off?
He said he wanted quality over quantity this season, which he’s achieved hands down. But to keep them all happy, is another thing.
Outstanding management

Don't underestimate Cookie's ability to recruit, develop, delegate and empower, his coaching staff. It used to pee me when folk would say his success here was largely down to Leam Richardson.

Depends on how much funding/backing he been given.
How would you judge Cook against Althrincham manager.

Got to agree I remember watching his interview on ledgend of the spire and thinking this guy loves town a week later rowe was in trouble and we were trying to get him!
He runs the club with so much common sense another thing what people don't mention is the way he handled the kabby situation which could have been serious for us but he got him out for good money

As things stand atm re Alty, we've won double the amount of games than them, we are 28 points clear of them and we're top of the league compared to their 4th spot.
Obviously, the funding and backing is a huge help, but you still have to motivate, get the tactics right and form a game plan.
Take Oldham for example. They are very inconsistent but also had the backing financially - recruiting Norwood would be on par with Grigg possibly and also landing Dallas who is now a L1 player.

Is PC the best manager outside the Championship? Well he's definitely up there with (imho) Phil Parkinson, they both have good CV's and they both seem to have a winning formula.

With us he has been given that time and long may it continue.
Sure there will be bumps in the road but what a journey we are in !

We will never have this level of domination/expectancy/ability compared to our opponents for a very long time and we need to embrace it and enjoy the ride.
We are very lucky to have the backing upstairs and the manager we have, without those two we wouldn’t have attracted the calibre of players we have done.

He's so positive about the game and how it should be played, that it rubs off on others. He gives and expects 100% from everyone around him including us. We are really lucky to have him as our manager, and long may it last.
