I really should do more, ive got my motorbike which I use in the summer months, mainly at weekends, but other than that not a great deal else, the Mrs and myself share the cooking, I've got my weights in the spare room, but really should use them more than I do, hardly touched them since the end of the pandemic, and a shed full of fishing tackle that's not seen the light of day for at least 4/5 yrs, ...
I do have an active job though so it's not like I'm sat on my backside constantly tho..

My wife just said I need to add collecting watches, I suppose she is right to an extent.

Which marathon are you doing? I think I'll be doing a marathon next year to try and get a Good for Age qualification time for London 2025. I had planned to run Manachester Marathon this last spring to try and qulify for London 2024 but got injured in January.

I'm doing Manchester next year, my best half was 1:35 in Sheffield this year, but I've definitely gotten faster since then so hoping for somewhere around 3:30 but no too fussed about times for a first attempt.

I’m sure you’ll do well mate. I’d appreciate hearing how you got on when you’ve done it.

I suppose I should add cooking too, I do it all in our house and really enjoy it. I used to love cycling, back before lockdown I used to cycle to work in Derby 2-3 times a week, now I am out of breath lifting my bike out of my bike shed.

The daft comments will come, I'm sure :-)

If anyone fancies a bespoke bit of furniture let me know. It’s something I’m interested in doing much more as I wind down.

I have just 5 that could be classed as luxury watches but I have a few older watches that many of them are now collectible, my favourite one being a 20 year old Seiko Pepsi divers watch.

I wouldn't say any of mine were mega expensive...
I've 2 steel G Shocks,
2 casio edifice both limited editions
A couple of much cheaper sekonda that I use for work,
A citizen eco-drive that I got for a bargain price
An omega seamaster... 007 edition, unfortunately that's a clone... but still very nice,
And a steel swatch..

I gave my Tag Heuer to my son for his 21st.

I just like nice watches, tho I don't like rolex, when I look in the jewelers, they never really appeal to me , I do want a proper Omega tho ... 1 day.

It's all course tackle, tho I do like a bit of sea fishing when I get chance, and have tried fly fishing in the past too.

That is excellent! Good luck with your training. I might start a running thread later to save clogging up Mark's with running stuff. I have thought about starting one for a while but never thought there would be much interest.

I’ve got a nice Aqua Racer I treated myself to for my 50th, looking at a leather strapped Carrera with the dark Blue face soon as well.

I have a Tag Heuer, two Omega (one of them a Seamaster Pro) and a couple of Tudor Black Bay. I to am not a fan of Rolex although you could say my Tudor watches have the Rolex pedigree as Tudor is a sister company. My latest Tudor which I had a couple of weeks ago has METAS certification mechanism which in my opinion means it’s far better than the Rolex Sub.

No it doesn't, its all relative to the collector. By far my favourite watch I own is my Seiko Pepsi divers watch my Mrs got me 20 years ago for our anniversary, I think she paid £180 for it. Its a cracking watch.

Love my watches (what else do guys in their middle age spend their cash on)!
I’ve got 4 Tags (the blue faces Monaco being my main love)!
Omega Seamaster
Omega Speed
Panerai
Looking for a Roley but he’s to get at the moment! No one has any!
And bought 5 of those nasty Omega / Swatch crossovers recently (but not a big fan)

Watches wise i've never spent loads on them but did have a few nice ones that i've picked up over the years including one that was basically just to look at as the dial wasnt overly easy to actually tell the time on! However for about the last few years i've just worn my Apple Watch the whole time and never wear the others. I've a few straps for it and just change those and the watchface depending on what i'm doing, find it so useful for things i just wear it all the time now.
