Definitely a case of be careful what you wish for. He has done a steady job there and staying up with games to spare is probably a realistic aim for them alongside making the FA Cup semi final. Be interesting to see who they think they can attract to take over.

It wasn't so much getting rid of Mick that was the issue, it was who they replaced him with. If they'd appointed Lambert a year ago, I reckon they'd have been comfortably mid-table.

Which is the same issue that now faces Brighton, get the appointment wrong and they are then playing catch up which is easier said than done. Lot of pressure to follow up the decision to sack Hughton. Seems Potter at Swansea is early favourite to get it.

Ipswich supporting friend not so sure, reckons they had a L1 squad in championship and manager needed to be a miracle worker...

Lets hope so. Be even better if they do a 'Sunderland'

Lambert is garbage and his appointment only sealed their demise. McCarthy was operating on a strict budget, apparently not playing attractive football but getting enough results to keep them afloat despite the financial restrictions.

An insane, deluded decision of Br+x+t proportions.
They punish a bloke for reaching a semifinal and keeping them up.
Who do they think they are going to attract?
I wish them luck with whichever Claud Puel type is standing on the pitch and holding a scarf aloft in a week or two, and look forward to them appointing Allardyce in february.

Madness. Lee Bowyer to replace him?

Certainly the kind of step-up a manager like Bowyer would be hopeful of, assuming Charlton go up and he gets some positive attention as a result.
I hope Hughton gets something soon, he's consistently undervalued. He'd suit a club like Derby or Cardiff.
