Great little club

Survive on low crowds, part-time players and a small budget.

Next Saturday v Town will be their 4th in 7 days and our first in 12 days.

At the moment it may be part time versus part time?🤭

We haven't got a great record over new managers.

Or,as I have said more than once, not a great record against clubs near the bottom of the table.

That said, I can think of a few fans of a few clubs who would love to have our record to date.

In fact, how many clubs have actually won promotion yet never mind being crowned champions?

Most teams have a poor run of form at some time during a season. Very few have that run after the jobs been completed though.

Agreed, Dave.

No one's happy with recent form but we've got to view it in context.

As said, it's like a long distance runner blowing the field away then relaxing and/or tiring as they approach the line.

Chuck in opponents raising their games and squad players being given opportunities and our slips are more than understandable...

Best thing is they're doing that while we've already past the finishing line and are wearing the bacofoil cape and got the medal hanging round our necks!

What’s different - most teams have raised their games when they have played us all season. That will be the case in the final 3 matches too and, in fact, the results in those games will be of more importance to our opposing teams than to us.

Sit back, relax, and look forward to next season.

Before then, though, we will have the rumour mill active to give us something to speculate on.

I agree with all that, would have snatched your hand off to be in this position etc etc.
However, the performance against Kidderminster, for example, was an embarrassment.
I find that inexcusable.

Cookie is just rolling the dice to find out who can cut it next year with some of the fringe. View it as an extended pre season which can only be to our advantage next year.

The majority of us realise that, however it doesn't stop the perennial moaners like Doug having their little hissy fits.

what is interesting too though is that each time a team plays us and "raises their game" to take points from us they can't then back it up the following game and some go a few games before they can find points again.

Connor Cook 3-1 to score anytime…. same as Naylor.

Grimes longest odds at 14-1…..

I’ll miss the under researched NL (but not for long!)

Best was Colclough between 7 and 10-1 for August-October 😂

With these playing last night and tomorrow night, I've had us to score over 3 at 7/1 based just on sheer workload for them
Here we go again!

Wonder what their pitch will be like with 3 games in 5 days?

Got 1 adult ticket and 1 U19 ticket for Wealdstone if anyone is considering a last minute decision to go and hasn’t got tickets yet.

It’s not just Wealdstone who should be tired by the time we play them. Gateshead had their game postponed last night so have 5 games to play before the season ends. They are playing Thursday, then Saturday before they play us on Tuesday, then will have to play Thursday and Saturday again.
The issue will be if our players are up for the games against tired opponents or are already on their holidays

For anyone travelling from central London, a heads up that there is no Metropolitan line service to Ruislip on Saturday. Alternatives are the Piccadilly line (increased journey time about 23 minutes), or the Central line to Ruislip Gardens (shorter train journey but about nine minutes longer to walk from the station).
