We might end up playing our not so noisy neighbours after all, having looked favs to win the league they now slip into 4th place ( albeit with games in hand) and have MK Dons to play away, its still theirs to lose but we all know what a set of end of season chokers they are...be the cherry on top off the icing if that happened.
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

It’s still wide open with no one putting in a run of form for 2nd or 3rd place.

One game in hand is midweek at home to Forest Green, which you’d expect them to win then they’re at MK next Saturday, which is potentially massive for either team.

There was a video doing the rounds of some dysfunctional mansfield family (that narrows it down) ranting and threatening MKD fans a couple? of years ago, on reflection would they have been embarrassed or proud of their behaviour? Anyway a rerun would be good.

Don't get our obsession with Mansfield for me it's always been the yorkies
Don't get me wrong I love beating them like in the 5-2 play off!
But leave them their calling their players and putting pressure on when they've still got a great chance
To me the wins against Wednesday united and Derby are way above any against Mansfield!

Are you kidding? Seriously? You obviously aren't old enough to remember the miners strike in the 80's and that after Wrexham our next most played opponent is probably them who are the wrong side of the M1.

[Dont get me started about politics you could add brexit to it as well its just my opinion i think its cos 79 80 season when we were playing Wednesday united i just fail to get up for just Mansfield but ive got to say it was great to have three sides of their ground]

Maybe your right my thinking is that our main rivals are whoever we play first game of the season next season could be a really crucial one in terms our future so let them implode and laugh!

I doubt they would be in top 10 of most played opponent.

I won't be sending my deepest sympathy, that's for sure 😁. If they fail to go up I'm pretty sure, they'll all get their Forrest scarves out of storage or go back to the black and white of Country.
I worked there once and you could tell the real diehard scabs because they used to stare at you with their third eye.

They don't bother me, they aren't even that Welsh, little different from scousers. Bit annoying since the money has gone to their heads but everyone would be the same

He's on about them over the M1 not Wrexham. And having had a look he's quite right they aren't in the top 10 of most played opponents, They're in the top 12 though,.in all matches we have played Wrexham 125 times, Lincoln 106, Tranmere 102, Port Vale 99, Bradford 98, Stockport 97, Grimsby & Walsall, 94, Doncaster 92, Barnsley 85, Crewe 84, Them & Notts County 77, Rotherham 75,

We have only played Sheffield Stupidname 36 times, Blunts 30 times and Derby 15 times.

NB these are only League & cup games (including the JPT iterations)

I’m not a barometer as only started going in 99/00 but just had a look on my Futbology app and the teams I’ve seen most apart from Town, England and Leeds are;

Port Vale, Bradford, Rochdale, Barnet, Notts C, Dagenham, Scunny, Sheff U, Sheff Wed (some neutral), Brentford, Oldham, Bournemouth

A town fan that doesn't despise Mansfield is like a roast dinner without gravy, I'm aware it's possible but it's just not right.

Nah…going back before the miners strike….when Wednesday and united were down in the old 3rd division in the late 70s early 80s they were more despised than Mansfield. It was only the miners strike that elevated them in the hate stakes. I’m in my 60s and will always hate the deedahs more than Mansfield….close tho 😀

And yet throughout the history of the club we've barely played either of the Sheffield clubs.

Hi Johnny.

I understand rivalry based on geography, and whilst I don't want to open a can of worms, the whole miners' strike animosity is based on the assumptions said Mansfield fan(s); were miners; and worked in the Nottinghamshire collieries; and did not join the strike.

Roughly 40 years on how many of the current crop of Mansfield fans fit that criteria?

even before then the 6-2 defeat in the league cup at Field Mill started all for me. We took their then North stand kop, battles all night after the game in the market Place, windows shattered by bricks on our way home, when have we had any major problems with the deedahs or Derby, apart from one night when the Owls caused mayhem at Saltergate. The one result I always look for is the Stags.
