I hope they manage to sort this out. I’m relying on these to finish 1st next season and consign Oldham to the playoffs.

Why would a takeover take longer than both parties expected when both parties have supposedly agreed a deal?

If that was the case then the proposed takeover parties would surely go public and say that he was acting a p*ick.

Yes but would that change things?

It sounds like a supplier who has not been paid after repeated promises of being paid has had enough and forcing their hand

Probably not but it sounds like that both parties are waiting for the hold up to sort itself out. But if both sides have agreed the deal and both are just sat twiddling their thumbs then it sounds like a bad case of out of the frying pan and into the fire.
I know that if I would be wanting to take over a club and had agreed a deal then I would be asking serious questions about any hold up. I would 100% go public if the seller was holding it up aswell.

I think the consortium have gone as far as they dare in saying that. I’m sure there will be confidentially agreements place which include, in legal terms, don’t slag off the seller. The buyers have already put in £3M, without any ownership, so I can’t see it’s a frying pan situation.

That's fair enough then.

It's probably ironic that it'll be the very same solicitor thatsaved them from being wound up in an earlier court hearing as well.

It's the fans and lower grade staff I feel for,as the board, manager and players are transient. Most fans have one club for life, and it doesn't matter be it Matlock Town or Man City all clubs are important to their fans. I wouldn't know what to do on a Saturday afternoon during the football season if Town had been allowed to fold, I'd probably bore my wife recounting teams from a bygone era, until I got another splinter from the long suffering rolling pin🤕.

And that is the essence of being a supporter. No practicality,no common sense,it just IS.
