So if we're not gunna allow folk to renew in there, why sell ST'S in there this yr, your only gunna pyss folk off if they can't renew...

Stupid ill thought thru idea.

Make a few extra quid with season tickets, make use of what we have to our advantage which seems to be one of the reasons given on the club article about it. As Sammy mentions if they are purchased on the understanding that things may change in future seasons and a home cup game may see them having to go elsewhere i really dont see the issue.

Nothing to say we can’t use the east stand for away fans next season as well. Doubt there are that many more away followings that will be more than 800 in league two.

This past season only 4 sides averaged more than 800 away fans:

Bradford
Stockport
Mansfield
Grimsby

Although only 3 sides highest away following was less than 800

Seems like a good idea to try and take advantage of the sort of good feeling around the place even though we lost the other Saturday. Trying and flog a few more season tickets to those that went to Wembley and might be interested again. As you say using it this season for season tickets for the upcoming season has no impact on what could happen after that. Come next summer they can decide to do the same again or go back to the old way of doing things...its certainly no reason to slate the option for doing it this season.

On the off chance of a big home cup game this season they just get the priority window to buy but have to go for a seat elsewhere in the stadium if the North Stand isnt available.

Exactly this. Not sure why people think it's such a big issue.

It's a nice problem to solve if either we have a cup run or get promoted. Staring at an empty stand every other week is minging anyway, ground looks much better and a better atmosphere with fans behind both goals! Good on the club I say. I'm sure they will continue to do the deals in the area too to get others in as well. The number of kids/families at games in the last couple of seasons has been huge and it's only growing so the work being done is helping i've no doubts!

Club pretty much say exactly this when saying they are doing it :-

Ashley Kirk said: “The players absolutely loved the last three home games where we had our fans in all parts of the stadium. We felt that the players rose to the occasion and the fans enjoyed it.

Also putting the away fans in the sides is better than having them as a "Kop" behind one of the goals, it gives them less influence on the keeper and defenders at "their" end.
I would imagine if we do ever get an option to play a team with a large following, then they would be given the North Stand in its entirety - and the normal away locations in the east stand be given to the CFC Season Ticket Holders from the North Stand.

Lol

Stockport (if no promoted)
Stags
Notts county
Wrexham
Donny

Just off the top of my head,

Maybe if they have good seasons.. Swindon and Gillingham, (Gillingham have new owners and will be up there)

There's probs another couple at least capable of bring over 800..

This is miles down the road and full of nothing but ifs and buts.
You're trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. You said we'd only sell half a dozen season tickets so why the big moan if half a dozen fans had to relocate IF we got promoted, IF notts, Wrexham, Donny, Stags don't get promoted/relegated and IF Swindon have a good season.

Moaning for the sake of it.

Because its a pointless exercise, no need to sell ST there, only to tell folk they can't renew.. just do what they did last season..

We can't be certain it's a pointless exercise as we don't know what the clubs strategy is. To use the words of a succinct poster earlier this week "let it go", " it's been done to death". 😅😅

Folk who buy there will already know they can't renew if circumstances change. But they'll still enjoy the renewal discount.
Like I said. You are moaning about a scenario 12 months down the line that may not happen.
Why not start moaning about something else that may not happen.

My mistake, I didn't realise message boards where for complaining and moaning about totally speculative occurances.
I'll be starting a thread later about the burnt pie I might receive sometime next season.

That's better than a handful of season tickets holders...

Your assuming that it will be a handful, let’s just see eh.
God I hate this league.

MK Dons
Forrest Green
Morcambe
Accrington

I don’t think they will fill the away East Stand areas.
God I hate this league.

And if we get promoted next season, do we let folk renew in there??

Or offer them seats in other parts of the stadium on reduced terms,( tickets in the North Stand are cheaper than the South stand) it's another Ill thought out idea.. imo

If we get promoted maybe they have thought it through and are going to fill in the corners!!!

That would be a waste of money, we would only ever need the corners filling in if we became a consistent upper league one or low championship side. We are a little way off that if you ask me!

Out of those only Oldham and Hartlepool would have brought more than 800 anyway
