If he taps in 25 again this season, I'll be happy.

I'm happy with Will Grigg. To score those tap ins, he has to be there which entails more than just standing there, or am I watching a different player, because whoever it is,his movement is good, his anticipation is spot-on and he loses his marker on a regular basis. Yes he misses some sitters but which striker doesn't playing at our level.

Who is Aaron? Assume you mean Lewis Gordon?

Aaron's Lewis' brother. He's power forward for the Denver Nuggets.

Williams too, he can double up on the bench as right back and centre half.

And one of our most promising youngsters is a right back I seem to recall.

I think the signing of dunkley puts to bed Liam Cooper signing. It was unlikely in my eyes anyway. Now he's injured and we've signed a 32 yr old i doubt cookie will bring another one in for defence at that age.

Is clucas coming ?

Yes, we'll need them all at some stage of the season, especially being that it looks like we're going for promotion once more.

Three year deal

*sucking in air through teeth sound*

Really happy with the signing... but would've preferred 2 years, assume he would only sign if we offered 3...

The overall cost of three years versus two may well be negligible. Given the stability that we've seen since Cook came back, it's hardly like we're a month away from appointing a new manager who will want to carve things up and in the process deem players on long term deals surplus to requirements just because they wore the wrong socks to training.

For crying out loud - hardly got his ass through the Sheff Road door and folk're already wondering how we'll get rid?!

We've signed a proven goalscorer; we've signed a lively young midfielder; we've signed a left back playing in L1 for the last two seasons and now we've signed another L1 outfit's captain.

The squad continues evolving for the better - let's celebrate that fact and look forward...

Well said.

For the second summer (what summer?) running, our recruitment appears to be fully committed to delivering marginal gains across the starting 11. I'm looking forward to seeing what the starting 11 will look like come August and what the new signings will bring to the squad.

I do not have much, or any, knowledge of our youngsters so who is this kid and is he actually under contract to the club?

Not sure about a right back.

Think he'll give Sheckleford with Mands as back up a go to start with...

As I have mentioned elsewhere, Chris, Williams can also cover at RB.

However, I am not sure that Sheckleford is the man to be first choice in L1. In his first season he played second fiddle to King and only made rare appearances and in his second season he did make more starts but also missed out on quite a number.

As such, I think we need a regular starter with Sheckleford as cover.

Agree entirely.
Although are we talking about the starting eleven on 10 August or the weekend of the 17th, as Im sure, if last season is anything to go by, the two will be quite different?

Still an ?if? at this stage I think.

We?ve spoke to a lot of players but getting deals done is a different story. Lots of things at play, FFP considerations, offers from elsewhere and just general players / agents using us / other clubs as bargaining power to get better deals elsewhere I guess.

We should be very happy with the business done so far, a fair few clubs have done very little and most will be back in training before the month end

The thing about these three year deals is...we can't EXPECT to go straight up. Best case scenario when being realistic is 2 years at this level. And then if we go up after that, I don't think it's such a bad thing to be going to league one with continuity rather than having to recruit a new team straight off.
