allison was a legend at sheff u i work with a few blades and they all loved him like all the fans have every where he has been.

Ward replaced Folan as in a striker who can score goals.

Ward isn't the same build as Folan, no but both their roles in the side is to score goals, so he is his replacement.

It now means that unless Allison plays upfront we lack the height we had.

If we'd have had Ward and Folan together we'd probably have been awesome upfront but that's the law of sod for you. Unfortunately we've still only got one proper (not too old/prolific) striker. And he's injured.

Given that Allison is wrapped in cotton wool by McFarland to a considerable extent (and was inexplicably not played with Ward initially despite it being glaringly obvious that he should be) we still lack a big, fit, mobile striker to replace Folan. McFarland has acknowledged this.

Just read in DT that Barry Corr is not being signed on nor is another striker from America that was on trial.
