City will appeal and win hands down.
UEFA don't have the financial clout to take them on and win.

This, loads of similar attempts by uefa/fifa have not stood recently plus hard to understand how city have been done yet PSG have got away with things.

Sad when a court battle sparks more interest than the footy

Sad when we care about Man City and the Champions League. It's fantasy football for little children.

A long legal battle ahead, and possibly a challenge to the whole corrupt FFP process. City can use the fact that the former Belgian president, who was at the head of one of the UEFA committees, basically branded their guilt and the punishment before the formal investigation process even began!

There's also the illegal email hacks and the fact that City are still very bitter over being stitched up by UEFA a few years ago - where City passed the criteria then UEFA re-wrote the rules and applied the new ones in retrospect. At that point City took the fine (reduced later) but vowed not to be played again.

FFP was brought in not to promote fairness and equality, but to protect the elite few clubs and keep others from the top table. The Champions League is another example of the Mafia elite protecting themselves. The farcical situation where more teams that actually aren't their reigning domestic 'champions' actually win the damn thing highlights the irony of the over-inflated title. The competition has also ruined many domestic leagues as it has made a select few far wealthier than their competitors.

Ironically City have regularly made a profit in recent times, whilst the likes of Man Utd, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all actually hundreds of millions in debt! But FFP conveniently ignores that fact!

I very much doubt the appeal will be heard before the end of this season and city will finish top 4 and play in the champions league next year and it’ll end up being a fine rather than any ban.

I hope City throw as many lawyers as possible at it and force open the farce of FFP and the double-standards used by UEFA when looking at club's finances etc. If they wanted to City could drag this out for years and years (like the Omer Riza case that only just ended after ten years!).

they could just admit their guilt & take their punishment.
ffp may be seriously flawed but they are the rules. break them youll get punished.

City are claiming they haven't broken the current, flawed, rules. A few years ago they met the criteria before Uefa then amended them and used them retrospectively to hit City and PSG. That action has resulted in City being very aggressive in their defence this time around. CAS couldn't prevent this punishment being given (as they stated they can only act post-punishment), but they did concede that City had strong arguments for their defence case, and that there did appear to be a verdict pronounced even before the following formal proceedings took place. The Riza case has also opened up many avenues that City can follow in their appeal process. I think this case may run and run tbh.

They didn’t ban PSG so there’s the precedent

Pep has a break clause in his contract, for the end of this season, apparently.

For all the talk of monopolies, why would UEFA have an issue with a club whose owner is worth around $20bn joining those at the top table?

Looks like City will argue not only that they did nothing wrong but also that the FFP rules shouldnt exist in the first place!!
