I noticed there's a few that can't wait to get stuck in to Jacobs, the 1866 man of the match

I’ll be as kind as possible and say I wasn’t aware that 1866 has priority nor ability to decide who was MOTM when they’re sitting on the fence every week like all those conducting pre and post-match interviews

No one wants to tackle the management because they want to stay on the right side for the wrong reasons

Their broadcast they can choose who they wish.
God I hate this league.

Can you re-quote that, it looks like I’ve posted that absolute drivel under my actual post.

Can you honestly say he hasn’t cost us goals? Nothing to do with a scape goat, he has clearly been at fault.

He certainly has.

Due to him being asked to play in a way he's not suited to. By the manager who bought him. Maybe he shouldn't personally bear the brunt. And anyway. He'll not be starting often now Freckleton is here.

Last week he was out muscled off the ball, nothing to do with the way we play.

No, like today he tried to outmuscle the attacker but was found wanting for speed. He didn’t upend the winger for the 2nd goal (like he has on other occasions to get out of jail) otherwise he would have been sent off for a 2nd yellow

Never rated him, at least if Williams c0cks up he has the pace to get back and try to rectify the situation, .. Williams is a better all round defender.. imo of course.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Last week he left the CF to provide an option for King at a throw in, King then cocked up big style and the ball bobbled to the CF who, admittedly, was too strong for Palmer who was wrong footed The goal though was King’s fault.

Well and truly out muscled and didn’t stop the bloke running with the ball who eventually scored.

It’s all about lack of pace when you can’t pass yourself out of trouble - welcome to the National League guys.

This makes me sick to the pits of my ample stomach. Last season people were calling for Grimes to be dropped and that Palmer should've been paired with Williams. Now Palmer is the worst defender we have? This thread is nothing short of disgusting.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Bare with me…
But this season Palmer has been significantly worse than last season.
And stay with me…
But people have changed their opinions

It’s a message board for peoples opinions, the guy is not good enough, not his fault he’s being chosen in the starting eleven, he should not be in the team. I’m happy for you to give a reason as to why he should be playing, that’s what the board is for.

I've not changed my opinion,.. Palmer was gash when we signed him, he's wasn't an improvement on what we had ( williams) and he's got worse... hope Williams new child gives him the drive to get back in the squad and keep palmer out..

Nope, he’s always been a liability, he’s slow, not comfortable on the ball, not particularly good in the air and positioning is poor.

Every season there is always a scapegoat and upto now it's Ash Palmer.
I remember last season and the season before when it was Grimes and Mandeville being pulled over thd coals.
Tbf, he cuts out the odd mistake per game, he is solid enough and also a goal threat

Wasn't Palmer part of the Stockport promotion side?

Palmer is an honest, solid and experienced pro who is an asset and who has (by all accounts) done well for many years.

He's been out this season with a leg injury. He'll soon be 31. He'll know exactly what has happened in the last few games and what he would do if he had those moments again.

That's not to say that Palmer can't become one of those ' first yard is in his head' CHs. He probably can.

Cook shouldn't (and almost certaaily won't) hook him during a game unless he's injured. Cook probably should (and probably will) bench him for the next game to try out the new lad.

If the new lad does the necessary, Palmer may find it hard to get back in. Which is fair enough. No doubt we'll be needing him to step back up at some stage this season.

Palmer is an honest, solid and experienced pro who has made some mistakes but is still an asset.

Palmer struggling to stop the mistakes and costing us goals, play a back 3 of Williams, Grimes, Frecks.
