His signings, his decisions, his tactics got us relegated. Blame the Sheffield Mafia all you want for everything else regarding our demise but JL as a manager was a complete and utter failure I'm afraid.
I think this is slightly harsh on JL tbf - he inherited a poor squad with the exception of Hird and Evatt. He somehow managed to get us playing, then lost both his centre backs and was forced into swapping the keeper multiple times.
Re January transfers he was never going to be able to replace what he'd lost to injury with the budget available.

But the budget was big enough to bring in several inexperienced players. Why not use it to replace experience what he lost?
Still, his decisions.
Still, his signings.
Still, his tactics that got us relegated.

Are you really struggling to calculate why a miniscule budget could not bring in two CB's the calibre of Hird and Evatt?
Inherited a **** squad. Was not given the funds promised. Lost the two most experienced players who were the core of the team. Literally not in the managers control. Anyone stating otherwise is thick as mince.

He brought in several inexperienced players who were not good enough for the job in hand. He had us playing better football with a Caldwell team than he did with his own signings. He lost two influential players and never replaced them. Make all the excuses you want for him, call me all you want if it gives you a hard on.
But the fact is that JL took us down because his January transfer window was nothing but poor recruitment. Any other manager that would have done that would be getting pelters but because it's JL he is given a free pass.

No. You're right. I take it all back.
He should definitely have replaced our two key players with players of a similar calibre. Even though he didn't have the funds to do so.
ps. The 'hard on' thing is a bit weird and smacks of projection. If you spent last time thinking about other blokes schlongs you might not get so distracted when it comes to philosophising on matters football.

Ok. Turn it all around into petty little quips away from the original topic. If that is what makes you feel better then go ahead.
But your being pathetic by doing it.

The topic was Jack Lester. which is what I'm commenting on. You bought the rigidity of my old chap into it.

I love it when you need to pick up on little details that have nothing to do with the original discussion. It just means that you're feeling like you're in the wrong, so you're needing to go in a different direction to make yourself feel better.
It just shows how truly pathetic you are and how you can't have a meaningful debate without trying to be controversial by posting things about the individuals who you're debating with rather than concentrating on the topic.
