Binned their manager yesterday. I sincerely hope they don't come in for Danny Webb. It was rumoured he was in the frame last time out.

He was linked to it the time before last and then it looked like it could have been a case of mistaken identity. They appointed a bloke called David Webb back in Dec 22 who last 10 games before he was binned off for the bloke they sacked yesterday. Dont think Danny Webb was linked to it when they appointed the last manager.

If Webb has any sense he will hang on here because I don’t think cook is a long term project for us

I’d like to think that Cook takes us up, and then once stabilised in League 2, Webb takes over the reigns. He’s served the club well, and I think the guy deserves a go full time.

I’d swap around “Cook” and “us”.

Taking him at his word - he wants to get CFC back into L1.

Cookies ceiling is the championship IMO. Bottom half championship. I say this because tactics seem set, in changes are most often like for like changes, and just plan A. Plan B is keep plan A going with fresh players.

Don’t get me wrong, I do like his plan A but going up a level into the championship you have to have a bit more, because Cookie is unlikely to be given one of the big jobs there, and competing against big clubs with premier parachute payments.

I’ll get to the point - I’m not so sure this is a short term project for Cookie. We could be his version of Dario Grady’s Crewe Alex.
A new hope.

This is just getting ridiculous now. Listen to his interviews when he joined and look at how the club is evolving.
Just stop trying to second guess what he is going to do when he says it for himself what his intentions are.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

They won't dare make a third successive appointment that the majority of people haven't heard of.

Cook isn't building a team just to get out of this league, but the next one too, and no doubt Danny Webb would be daft to swap that for, what looks like, a revolving door job at York. Maybe Danny Rowe will apply as player/manager, it would get us out of a hole.

Can't see Webb leaving. Fully involved in local projects. Was at a foundation day Sunday and loves living in Chesterfield. Honestly think he succeeds PC when he decides enough is enough. I think York will go for Neil Ardley, available and ready to go straight away.

Would you take money for Webb if it was invested at centre half?:-)

No
He is Heir to the Throne.
When Cook calls it a day, Danny Webb slips straight in seamlessly
