I appreciate we are miles away from this but interested to find out. For Solihull away on Boxing Day I suspect our away allocation will sell out to STH (which I am not) due to the low allocation they give. Over the last couple of years, did anyone go in the home end? If so, how did you manage to do so? Do I need to set up an online account with Solihull in advance in case they make it so that only people with a pre existing account are able to purchase tickets or did they not put anything in place to stop away fans buying in home ends when we last played them? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I know a couple who went in the home end the season before last I think it was, just had an account created and did it that way. Inside they then just walk round towards the away end anyway.

I haven't checked re Solihull but I regularly buy a ticket for the home end at various places.
I don't want to be stuck in a corner or behind the goal.
It just means registering with whatever club every time as a new supporter.
The only downsides are 1. dangerous to jump about if Town score 2. can't wear CFC apparel 3. getting subsequent emails from the away club so have to de-register/ unsubscribe 4. the away support figure is down by one !

They said they were checking ID in the home end the last time we played them.

I did exactly the same at Altrincham, but my son and I blagged our way into the away end.

If Solihull checking ID, it may stop John Smith being a very popular name in Chesterfield on Boxing Day.

Knowing soilyhulls form, tickets probably won't go on sale until the new year

Each to their own but this seems a very joyless way to follow Town. Is not celebrating your team's goals with fellow fans of your team almost the entire point of being a football fan?

I think having a crap view is almost part and parcel of away travel at times. I'd much rather put up with that and enjoy the moments when they happen than be with home fans pretending to be something i'm not.

Agree all you want but we live in a democracy.
As I'm approaching 75 I don't have the urge or ability to jump about, so if I act the same I might as well have a decent view.

No problem buying in their end. We did it for the league game last season then used them to access the away end. They weren't physucally checking and just scanned and in we went.

We would have sat in the home end if we hadn't ended up doing that. The section of seats next to the ones we normally get allocated was pretty empty so that may be the best spot ! Crap view though.

Errr ….no. I can celebrate nice and quietly on my own.

I don’t believe either of us are suggesting you can’t/shouldn’t, merely that it is at odds with the generally accepted way to have fun supporting your team.

If its a match between 1st and 2nd on Boxing day they will probably start their usual shithousery tricks by giving us a really low allocation so they dont lose home advantage with our Away following. Bunkum Club with Bunkum antics. They wont do us any favours even though they know the revenue would be good for them.
