Heard the story that when Alfreton station opened as Alfreton and Mansfield Parkway some blunts fans got off there for a game at Mansfield...

Lives Brighton way.
Snowy? I was wondering just the other day whatever became of him. I remember there being a right old rumble at Walsall involving him. Do you remember those big lads following after leaving the pub in Lincoln some years ago Andy? Right nutjobs they were.

I didn’t realise Town had played Crook Town. Fine old team with a great history and ground.
Netherfield became Kendal Town.

Good to hear that Snowy is ok, I remember him very well, nice lad.
I remember being on the away buses and always looking out for Warfey thumbing it to the games. We picked him up a few times on our travels.
Also remember going on the Vivo buses to the away games, I think they were organised by a Brampton lad, was it Chuck Marshall?

I remember our bus (Chumbleys of Brimington I think it was) and we picked Warfey up en-route to Hereford. It may have been around the Walsall area if my memory serves me right. I'll never forget those Hells Angels that were waiting for us around the cattle market near the ground though lol.

Getting off in Sheffield, no idea how to get to the ground we hook up with two Burnley fans and get talking.
"Where are you from?" they ask.
"Town." No further explanation was expected to be necessary.
True story.

If you were going on the train that was nearest station.

Brighton's closest derby would be Crawley or maybe Worthing would be the Sussex derby (East v West) if they got promoted a few leagues 😁
I know Millwall and Brighton have no love for each other, went to a preseason "friendly" and saw a few people that had been bottled by rival fans 😱

I remember on the morning of the replay the headmaster at school said in assembly that he knew there was a football match at Saltergate that afternoon and that he was placing prefects at every schoolboy entrance and anyone caught would be stopped going into the match and brought back to face summary punishment which we all knew would be the cane lol
Reluctantly our little band of would be truants decided discretion would be the best part of valour and stopped at school all day
A bonus in the evening though was when Sportsview came on TV it was announced that highlights of the chesterfield v Netherfield FA Cup replay would be shown in the programme with David Coleman as commentator so I managed to see the goals after all
Happy days
those highlights are still elusive to this day lol

Very true that, cue many starting to walk without realising how far it was and calling at the Hawthornes pub.

Yes, remember that game too and the Hells Angels incident.
Also remember Sammy Miles leading the town fans in a rendition of “I can’t read, I can’t write, but I can drive a tractor” to the Hereford fans.
