My work means I sometimes visit Muslim households.

And I've always been touched by the way they, as part of their culture, make visitors feel welcome.

To the point of, on one occasion, inviting me to join their families' Eid celebrations (which I can only compare to Xmas).

Ironic that a sad minority are so bitterly unwelcoming to them...

I have worked in quite a few countries during my career in the oil and gas industry. My experiences gave me the same impression as you Chris, but not just with muslim people. I found the same with Chinese, Singaporeans, Germans, Vietnamese, Americans, Japanese, Brazilians etc. So I feel it doesn’t matter what colour or religion you are, the vast majority of all people are really nice, pleasant and friendly. Of course there will always be the minority of “bad people” in every society. We should keep re-enforcing this sort of message because the media these days don’t dwell on positive news that much anymore.

What was the crowd when we played the game against Sheffield Wednesday, to celebrate the installation of the floodlights, anyone remember? Seemed to be pretty big to me from memory.

Don't forget the two by us cleared off goal line in 1st and 2nd half. I just felt defensively you were too open and even if you had got it back to 4-3, there were still opportunities for us to do you on the counter again. It was a pulsating match that's for sure.

Good luck in the playoffs mate. I hope you win and come back up with us.
I went the other night and I thought it was a great game and that your team played very well, especially in taking your goals so well.
50 years since I last visited the Shay and what a difference between then and now. Nice ground, shame about the pitch the other night though. At least this visit I didn’t have a gang of Halifax fans chasing me through your indoor market before the game lol.

    Good luck.

Its a pretty big site, there is the showroom you can see from the road, the workshop to the left next to the houses, and then sales pitch and storage for 30 or more caravans and manoeuvring space. Access is the issue as the main entrance isnt great, especially with a huge caravan on the back! You do have retail at the back of the jet station so pretty sure some form or retail would be allowed. But new houses would be where the money is and with the pressure to build more on brown field sites there would be pressure to approve. Of course we dont know who owns the site...

Brown field sites seem to have taken a back seat with planning up here these days. Brimington, Inkersall, Dunston, Calow and down Derby Road areas have all had large green fields built on recently, or are about to have houses built on them. Where are all the people coming from who buy these houses?

Remember all the times Kabby stood with the kids and signed autographs and had selfies taken with them, always smiling.
He deserves a warm welcome from us in my opinion.
