Loz is a decent player and always tried his best for the club. IMO he was at his best when playing in a back 3 under JR where he didn’t need as much physicality and was given the freedom to roam forward with the ball. In a 4 he’s always looked a bit lost in my eyes and never looked fully comfortable at CB (or LB even though he did a decent job last year). Hope he goes on and does well.

We have never had any favours of them before. Being used to get Ched Evans reintegrated into football and stiffed over Brooks in particular aren’t forgotten.

Have you forgotten O’Shea. How nice of us to loan him to Sheffield United so they could get promotion when we needed him more.

That aside I wasn’t suggesting a special relationship - god forbid; just that when any club from the top league loan players out to clubs of our status it is generally for their development. I wouldn’t expect much money to change hands in those circumstances.

Never got my head around that one, now or when it happened.

This move is all about freeing up wages. Good business for an average player who is OOC at the end of the season

Seemingly the link with his brother moving to West Ham seems feasible as that move is back on, apparently.

What would be the link between the brothers moving be?

I like Maguire but the rose-tinted glasses of his ability on here is crackers. He’s ok, he’s nothing special, he runs through treacle.

Quite. The only position I'd feel comfortable him playing in is a CB in a 3 for his ability to find a pass.

Best of luck to him on his travels. Freed up a not insubstantial wage I'd imagine. Hopefully for Freckleton.

I had forgotten that. What a disgrace that was. I agree - it shouldn't and even better for us if no travel/accommodation costs to incur.

Maguire strikes me as an honest pro who gives his all. He also comes over as a Town fan. I've said on here after watching him in games that he's always struck me as not quite good enough to play CH due to his positioning errors and tendency to make bad decisions on the ball. He's also struck me as not being quite good enough to play holding CM as his tackling isn't always great. He has done better as FB but has also tended to have a mistake in him each game in my opinion.

I suspect (and I don't really know why) that when Cook spoke of not being able to trust players last season (in games, I presume) that Cook was referring to Maguire given that he mainly benched him afterwards.

Anyway, all the very best to the lad if he has got another club. I genuinely wish him ever success in the future.

Someone on here a few months ago, suggested Maguire would only move to Crawley (who it appears have been keen on him for good year or more) if his brother ended up at a London club.

I wasn't suggesting it was definite, but that there could be some truth in it.

Were not talking the Boulding brothers here, but its feasible i guess!

Assume we’re about to see one in on loan then until January. Gives a safety blanket.

I've had Harry to West Ham at 6/1 on sky bet
