For those wondering whether to park in the supermarket I suggest reading up on here:-

PS Moderators I'm not encouraging anything, merely allowing people to arm themselves with the facts......

There's a tesco where I live same as the new one in Town. Not been to the new one, but here there are sensors above the parking space, it's 3 hours free parking - timed by the parking sensor. No disclaimers on having to use the store/spend so much inside.

Don't know if they'd go for that at Town, as 3 hours would be perfect for the footy.

called in the new tesco last week and noticed that the signs said 3 hours parking and nothing about shopping only. That said at the one next to the ricoh arena in Coventry they have stewards on the exit checking if you've been shopping!!

that figure seems a little high to me, even allowing for away fans (depending who we play)

Were the results of the survey the club carried out last year on how people intended to travel to the new stadium ever published?

When the work was done a couple of seasons back the average number of cars for a game was 1100.

It's 2 exits at Tesco isn't it, I'd bet you'd all change your minds about parking in Tesco if it takes you 15 to 20 minutes to get out.
God I hate this league.

2 exits....one to Sheff Rd and the other takes you out to the big roundabout and you arent allowed to turn right.

Both with sensor-operated traffic lights so movement out should be steady even if not speedy.

plenty of road parking to be had around pottery lane though, either side of the by-pass.

It still think its strange that around 1/6th of our attendance from wednesday night might travel there alone, by car.

Granted the figure that travel or intend to travel to the new ground by car might be 500 people but thats not necessarily 500 cars.

Are you raving mad, public transport is rubbish and the majority of people travel by car because it's convenient.

Public transport will at least double, perhaps quadruple your travel time.
