Caldwell loves square pegs in round holes. Play the guy in midfield where he's comfortable and get a proper left back in, with defending there speciality.

He's playing right back tomorrow.

Here's a novel idea, why not sign an actual left back?
We have. JBW.
Signing a guy who is comfortable on the left and can switch to midfield when JBW returns from injury seems to make sense.

If he can do the job effectively then I agree. You have to assume, for what it's worth based on some of his other decisions, that GC is working on that basis. He has, to be fair, managed him before and has no excuse not to know what he can and can't do.
If he gets this wrong given JBW's long term injury then we are mightily exposed for a big portion of the season.

Agreed.
GC been unlucky this season so far. Jury still out on recruitment I reckon. We might as well settle in and see where we are in 15-20 games. Can't really afford to let another management team go. Need to give him time.

That's the thing, time.
Look how many were calling for Wilder's head at the start of last season. 4/5 games in, Blunts were saying the job was to big for him. Kinda turned out OK for them.

Say we give him 10 games and he wins 1 of those 10. We part company, another 2 games or so until we appoint a new manager and we lose both. New manager comes in and takes 5/6 games to get the team playing his way.
So that's 18 or so games where we could be cut adrift. We dont have time. Last season we had the buffer of league 2 between us and non league. This season we have not got that luxury due to the dramatic failure of the last.
5 games and no wins and it's time to go.

So you're suggesting we sack another management team, pay them all off, hire a new man, who will want players of his own?
As said above, Wilder began last season horribly, then went on to win the title. Easily. Way too early to think about a change.

GC only on a year contract, wisest thing AC and DA have done while at club. The trapdoor to oblivion will have to come into consideration if we're are languishing around the bottom 4 say after 10 games, if mid table stick with the guy.

Well, no doubt he will turn his attentions to another player now.

But, isn't it a "rolling year" and, as such, there is always a year left on his contract?

He clearly isn't 'rubbish' whatever you might think.
But then you named yourself after a useless crock who barely played a game for CFC so what does that say about your decision making?

It would seem that the professional opinion of DD is somewhat different to yours.
But hey! why should anyone value the thoughts of the management at CFC,Wigan Athletic and Portsmouth when we can listen to you ?
