When was the last time Derbyshire had 3 with hundreds in one innings and one got a double century? I can’t recall it in recent years.

Think there may have been a game last season with three hundreds when we had a run of big scores but not sure about the double hundred bit.

Definitely happened in 2007….

“Derbyshire recorded their highest ever score, 801 for 8 declared, against Somerset at Taunton in 2007. Their score beat their previous highest ever score of 707 for 7 declared also against Somerset at Taunton in 2005. Simon Katich scored 221, Ian Harvey 153, Ant Botha 101 and James Pipe 106. Derbyshire broke the record despite losing Phil Weston and Chris Taylor to Andy Caddick in the first over without a run on the board.”

Had a quick scan of results in CC on cricinfo. Can’t see it happening since the above game. Chance it happened in some poxy early season university game but not checked those. Saw three near misses with a double hundred, hundred and score in the 90s.

today is a very rare day in the world of Derbyshire cricket

We go into the last day of the worcestershire match with zero chance of losing and every chance of winning the match

The only problem to winning is that the pitch might be too docile for us to take the 8 wickets required to win the match and it might just fade away to a draw

time well tell lol

I'm always of the opinion that Derbyshire can conjure up a loss from anywhere but as you say it would take some effort to do that today! Shifting Libby and Ali yesterday was a handy step in the right direction towards winning.

Play is proceeding as feared at Worcester with Roderick 110 not out and only 4 wickets down so far

Not the first time he has held us up either

At least Worcester weren't chasing a total for victory which is normally the case and succeeding on the last day lol

Funniest thing about tonight's demolition of Leicestershire tonight was commentator Dave Fletcher announcing that Burton had signed Mason Mount from Millwall on a 3 year deal
He actually meant our ex loanee Mason Bennett
Back to the cricket and Sunday is now a winner takes all shoot out against Worcestershire at Derby
The prize is an away tie at Somerset and we all know what happened there last season lol
Time for revenge if we win Sunday

Looking at the North table after tonight's matches Derbyshire actually have the second best run rate lol
and regardless of what happens on Sunday a certain other team that I shall not name will NOT now qualify for the quarter finals lol

Been tempted in and making the trip down to derby for the big game tomorrow. First visit of the season.

Should be a decent crowd for Derby to be honest

I will be there pity its not in the Park for some real atmosphere though lol

A win for Derbyshire and a certain set of other results and we might even avoid going to Somerset again lol

Never really at the races today from over one
Worcestershire took the match away from us at the end of their innings with over 40 from their last 2 overs
It was always going to be uphill from then on
At least we made a better attempt at chasing than a certain other team in the Park in the same competition lol 😆

They started well then we dragged them back and then they finished well when it was key we finished well. Too many gifted runs from extras including way too many No Balls, think a couple of the free hits went for 6. Things like the four 6s by Santner can happen but at least we can control not bowling no balls and that was just sloppy.

Impressive knock from Madsen again, he just looked on a different level to the rest of our batsmen (possible exception of Du Plooy) including Haider Ali who just seemed to come out swinging with no real finesse to it.

Imo Ali went in too early as was proved earlier in the competition when opening the innings he did not really score any significant runs

it was though we went all guns blazing early in the innings without any real thought of a plan to score the runs and apart from Dloveria who went for a few our weakness against spin was shown up again

Yep they seemed to think sending him in as we lost a wicket in the powerplay was the way to go and also partly holding Madsen back it seemed as he can score out of the powerplay as well. It was annoying that Madsen got out to Finch on that last ball of one of his overs as it had already gone for a few and he looked likely to go for more.

We always seem to shoot ourselves in the foot when getting into a strong position and as you say no need to try and go for another big hit when the over had already gone for a few
Santer for them just tended to just knock a single at the end of any over that he had hit for a few and that meant he kept the strike at start of next over

Yep prime example being when he'd took McKiernan for 4 sixes instead of getting carried away going for more he played the ball on its merits and made sure he didnt play a silly shot chasing it.
