Good news at face value but you've gotta question the timing.
If the Allen regime really are on the way out why go to the time and trouble of organising a gig for someone else?
Either way let's hope lessons have been learned - appoint folk who know what they're doing and seek a modest yet guaranteed profit.

That was my first thought Chris! Seems a very strange one to me!

Huge tour of America up until the 30th June so would have to be July onwards and what with pre season friendlies and such it would leave a small window!

Maybe it’s a a way of showcasing what ‘could’ be done here.
If done properly.
And that’s a pretty big ‘if’ after last time!

If it is a World renowned artist then I would imagine these things are planned months in advance and its more than possible the timings of the sale etc and this concert overlapped. Also I'm sure that any sale etc could still be done with those arranging the concert still taking credit and profits from the event with a charge for renting the ground?
