I should have asked him about it when he was in the Tap House the other week. I'm sure he'd love to talk about it with a stranger.

Well known amongst fans when he signed for us in 1983. Details freely available on the web. Plus other drink drive offences.

I've read about some of it. After what he did to commit further offences is pathetic.

Not much shocks me, and that certainly doesn't, but to trivialise it on that level is pretty low.

a couple of posters here have plumbed new depths......I`d expect S+D to be able to parachute from a snakes belly.
A new hope.

fyi:
The normally reliable David Conn tweeted:
@david_conn: Ched Evans: Police say they called Oldham Athletic & sponsors and were told no threats been made; a couple of "low level abuse on Twitter."

Well it looks like some sort of aftermath is happening as the trusts chairman has resigned and the fans aren't sorry to see him go.
God I hate this league.

He should ring her up and say
" Hi its Ched, can I just give you £200k and buy you a Pink Mini, you go on TV, get a fee and say you regret getting so drunk, it was a really silly thing to do"

"I'll do an interview, you can have the fee, I'll say how stupid I was to take advantage when you had had too much to drink"

"i can then play for Oldham and you can go on Celebrity Big Brother"

Everyones a winner

"Politically motivated confected outrage" seems to be the norm these days especially on social media. Speak against the tide of this and you are a troll or worse some kind of rape (insert topic of discussion) sympathiser.

It's got to a point where individual thought will soon be displaced by homogenised outrage by the politically correct masses.

If you are a scientist who led a team to one of the most impressive scientific events in mankind's history you better not wear the wrong type of shirt in case the ****terati sit in moral judgement. Utter madness.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Does make you wonder how Ludovic Kennedy would have fared nowadays.

Inclined to agree with that. Legally the case proceeded properly and the rapist was dealt with by due process, despite some distinctly strange evidence. The offender was released on licence after half the sentence, with the right to continue in his employment, and is now seeking a review and claiming innocence, as is his right under law - that's the law of England under which we all enjoy peace, freedom and free speech. The price for that enormous benefit is to accept that same law, even if we don't agree with it, because the alternative is too horrible to think about, as we're seeing at the moment.
Mob rule, abuse and threats of violence such as is determining the case of Evans should play no part in that law, because once it wins, where do you stop it?
The only complication is that Evans was wrong to seek to resume his career before his case had been reviewed. Had he come out of the nick and announced that he was not prepared to seek employment as a footballer until his case was finished with he might have enjoyed a lot more public support, even if the verdict gone against him. If it had he should have waited until the rest of his sentence had elapsed, and then been entitled to resume his career in football.
He's either very thick, or very badly advised.
