Well we have had “spring watch” and “autumn watch”, so why not Cfc “pitch watch”? So is there any sign of the dreaded “virus” returning; is the weather at the moment ideal for grass growth or has Elton (I‘ll give him a “rocket man“ if it has) John done any permanent damage? These are the questions we want answered, where is the web cam when you need it, I have got nothing better to do today so I want to watch grass grow!

Yes there is the possibility of me being a little “stir crazy”, but overwork and under pay along with a fledgling in his late 20’s who wont leave the %!*$£@# nest and spends all day in his bedroom on his computer, only coming out to eat me out of house and home, while his mother stands there saying “isn’t it nice to have him at home all the time” will do that to you.

So on my day off is it too much to ask for a little peace and quiet, and the ability to watch tiny strands of wonderfully green grass work their way up through the sandy soil, in the only place that brings some sanity into my life?

God, I’ve just read that back and it sounds like I’m depressingly dull, but I’m not really. :o

He didn't say he was doing the painting, just watching it dry! Like how many council men does it take to dig a hole, answer 5, one to dig the hole and four to stand around watching him do it!

What do you mean, I am a youngster. :sunglasses

Just because I can’t party all night, and then do a days work, and still have energy to go out again the next night, like I used to. Just because I can’t drink coffee that isn’t decaffeinated any more, or want to go to sleep after two pints, and find a night in front of the telly, with my slippers and a warm fire, preferable to going down the pub, and when the first thought on seeing a pretty girl in skimpy clothing on a Friday night is “good grief she must be freezing dressed like that.”, DOES NOT MAKE ME OLD!

Does it?

Good grief where did the years go? :(

Are the youth teams home games played at b2net, if so there are only four days left for the pitch to be ready, is it?

Youth team home pre-season games.
Friday 13th July
Wednesday 18th July
Wednesday 1st August
Plus any home fixtures when the league starts.

Pre-season games.
Tuesday 7th August
Saturday 11th August

Capital One Cup game.
Tuesday 14th August

First home league games.
Tuesday 21st August
Saturday 25th August

Is it just me that thinks that is a lot of games, or am I living in the past concerning pitches?

Doubt the youth team games will be at the b2net especially if there are any concerns over the pitch. Suspect they'll be played at Warminster Rd or maybe Cylinders if thats ready.

In terms of the first team games i suspect these days providing the pitch is ready and teams dont turn up with some pitch eating virus on their boots like last season that i suspect it'll be ok.

I can't remember a youth team pre-season friendly ever being played at our stadium, whether it was Saltergate, or the new one.

Been down at the ground today so had a quick look, was only through the gap in the gate but it certainly looked ok.

With this weather it should be shooting up, shouldn’t it? Heard from someone they were cutting it with a HAND MOWER on Monday, something to do with it being just to take the top bit off, that must have been a job and a half? :o
