I registered with Bob's Board for the first time a couple of days ago. It may be a coincidence but I have just noticed that a new program has recently been installed on my PC (running XP sp3), probably in the last day or two. It is called Trusteer Endpoint Protection. Can anyone tell me whether this has been installed as part of the registration process?

Don't believe anything is installed when you register on here. That software is used by some banks I think, I know mine push it as a form of protection against phishing etc.

And to confirm, there are no trackers, adverts or anything that monitors you in any way.

There are a cookie on your computer which just keep the settings you have selected for the site and what you have read so the messages display correctly, but that's on your computer, the board itself doesn't keep track of them.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I phoned my bank (The Co-op) and was informed that their internet banking site has an option to download Trusteer Endpoint Protection. I must have inadvertently clicked on it when I last visited the site. Thanks again.

As an aside what are the Co-op bank like? I'm changing banks and it's a toss up between first direct and the co-op.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I've been with them for 30 years and never had any problems with the services I've used.

Its fine now and does everything i need it to. They have an "app" now but its a bit basic and just lets you check balances and thats about it.
