According to soccerbase, we're talking about the same man who bagged 5 league goals during his stay at Saltergate. Now in fairness I thought it was more than that, but what makes you think that someone who went from 88 goals at Dean Court, to a mere handful in Derbyshire, would trouble a tream with premiership credential and aspiration?

Because their two centre halves will never have an easier match all season.. Campo played with a cigar in his mouth all game. What we needed, desperately yesterday, was a Fletch to (1) hold the ball up and encourage the midfield forward, and (2) get his head on things for Ward to chase onto..at least give their back 2 something to think about.

Exactly. I know Fletch was popular and a decent bloke etc but I reckon stats would show that he committed more fouls than he won headers. As soon as he came on, our game plan was to lump it towards him whilst he grappled with a defender and then gave away the free kick. Hardly effective

our game plan most weeks asumes he is still playing though

Precisely! My theory is based upon our tactics....

At the very least it was a plan B...... We dont even have one this season.

Well OK and I wasn't at the match, but Fletcher has two league goals for Crawley, thus far; frankly I'd expect more if he was wanting to challenge Championship defenders.

I'd be more interested in two of his team mates, this season...

Jon-Paul Pettman and Thomas Pinault

all speculation of course, Ipswich still won.
