..but today's results mean we're now TEN points behind the play offs.
And it's not as if we've games in hand, or owt.
Sycophantic interviews and straw grasping aside, our season is effectively over.
Ta very much, Bazza.

I'd hazard a guess that we won't make the 10 point gap up either ... especially when Ward leaves ... but we're also ten points behind automatic promotion too! The top is so tight that a decent run could see a club pull away, like Wycombe, and build up a gap. That we aren't in the mixer for that and are having to dream of making up 10 points is an absolute disgrace!

yes...and 1 league win from last 9 league matches! Days before the Exeter game the chairman felt it appopriate to address all the supporters regarding the results at that time (which I think was at that time, 1 win from 8 games!). He was unhappy yet results are now worse than that period, plus we have also been well beaten by a non-league club (not even a conference club). I'm astounded that changes have not been made.
I have heared on numerous occasions supporters questioning "who would want the job?", my answer to them is the manager's position at Chesterfield is no doubt the safest football job in the country!

Well, a phone call since this thread was started pretty much backs up the 'Dead Man Walking' scenario long since put forward by MP.
Apparently there could well be 'movement' next week, but any signings will be low cost or no cost ones, and any incoming player of any stature will have to be matched by someone exiting the Club.
And the reason?
The prospective owner wants to arrive in a blaze of glory, sacking Richardson and replacing him with his own man, whilst adorning that appointment with a number of 'proper' signings.
For what it's worth i think that Hubbard's comments regarding the manager have been so much hot air, as he probably abdicated responsibilty for running the Club in real terms some time ago.

28 pts from 23 games so far. About to lose our star striker. So a midtable finish is the best we can hope for. We need the investment now and a new manager not only to rebuild for next season but also to create some interest before crowds dip below 3k.
Many a good tune

Do you think he believes his own bull****? Do you think he thinks we with the exception of a few still believe him? Trust the man at your peril. The grim reapers scythe is ready to swing
