been reported that he wants to get rid of load of fringe players
but keeping the goalkeepers
maybe we could offer a small fee for DOWSON.
would be ideal to replace ward..very similar sort of player.

Good spot!

I was well impressed with Dowson last season. I was hoping we could get him on a season long loan. Big question though, is whether he'd want to play for a struggling L2 team with a very unpopular manager?
I'm embarrassed by the actions of those who run my club.

;) Dowson similar to Ward? In what perspective? Non as I can see. You just don't replace a player like Ward, as a club like ours you have to develope one. Or go down another path and go for the bigger type of target man.

small in stature , likes to run with ball, young, wants to try and better himself ??????????????????????

have you seen chesterfield develop a player before,no
you can pick any 1,even folan.did we develop him
no we just had a good cup run and he came to the fore

sure if you cant see the comparison your like many on here who cant see the wood for the trees

this is as good as we are
we have no divine right to be top of this division
what you get is what you see

ernie was a great player at this level, never played much higher
stevo was very good,i agree with you, only here 2 years,so must have developed very quick

development; ie; bringing the players forward from what they where when they came to chesterfield

 But no where as good as Ward. If there was another around we couldn't afford him. That's why I say we need to discover another, develope him and :D sell him on-----to survive. The way of the world in the lower divisions.
