If the right players are available surely it's better to bring them in and build ready for next season, than have to bring in almost a whole new side in the summer and get them settled in all at the same time.

It's not just about players. It's about the manager and how he wants to play the game. Rico's been found out! His idea about how the game should be played are limited. The second half at Ipswich demonstrated everything that is wrong about his one dimensional football.

He should not be allowed to spend money. He will NOT be the manager when the investors take over.

Our season is over! Let's just get it over with and hope we can finish comfortably in mid-table until the assault on the new ground and Championship starts in ernest with some new blood and a new manager.

The right players for who? If Rico isn't going to be the manager next season (please God) he should not be given the chance to use up the Clubs funds to sign players on long term contracts. We need to give the replacement manager as much freedom as possible to build his own squad.

On the way down in the car today we were discussing the squad this year compared to last.

Wrexham away last year was a night that we played probably the best football seen by Chesterfield fans for years, with width and with players in the team/squad like

LEVEN
BASTIANS
ROONEY
FLETCHER
KOVACS

5 players there who we have NOT replaced and look at the difference in the performance served up this year.

NO WIDTH, NO FOOTBALL, AND MANAGER WITH NO OTHER OPTIONS TO CHANGE A GAME, in under a year!!!

You could argue that Rico attempted to replace Leven with Harsley and got it wrong big time. Currie for Bastiens, although Currie is a totally different player. No replacement for Rooney, no replacement for Fletch and Austin or Page for Kovacs.
