Would this be the same Lester who pretty much only played the home games that season?

Davo dug us out of many a hole in the away games as well.

Yes - the same Jack Lester that really wanted to play home and away but Sheridan insisted on keeping him for home games only. We'd have been champions a month earlier if Lester had been allowed to play awat games too

Lester was a magician. Davies was a hammer. Both great but give me the magician every time. Davies wasn't our best player and we were dubbed 'Lesterfield' by envious rivals for a reason.

Armand has a big season ahead of him. Listening to Saunders interviews, I can see him playing a lot.
A new hope.

He might think he can improve results by using plan B first, then reverting to plan A after we've scored the first goal. Thinking back to Preston's early goal in the play off, the root cause was Tendayi bombing on even though Jones had, and gave away, the ball. I bet DS thinks that was a naïve tactic.

I would imagine that Davies wages at Wigan will be considerably more than we were even paying Gary Roberts..like you say , a complete non starter!

Id take SEB over Davies as much as Davies was a hit here, SEB has a better record. If he repeats his previous champ form and a season in the prem I think he scored 7, he walks this league. Same age as Davies both have a while yet.

I think SEB will bag more than Davies this year if he stays fit.

If my memory serves me right, Davies mostly supplied himself. His typical style was to pick the ball up well out, usually in the left wing area, run at the defence, cut inside and curl a 20 yarder into the far corner with his right foot.I haven't seen enough of SEB to know if he needs a supply of passes into the box or not, but I would think Clucas, Talbot, Jones or Tendayi could do that (if they're still here).

I hope you arn't suggesting SEB will be reeping the rewards of some magnificient crossing in that he's only 5'8" tall.
God I hate this league.
