I’d rather go to Mansfield’s tip and frankly it looks to be an either-or situation

I think posters such as Warfey, AC and others will verify that, before the Scabs were Scabs they were already seen as strike breakers by those in North Derbyshire because it was the Notts miners who created the Spencer union that broke ranks and went back to work during the 1920s. They went onto creating the UDM during the 84/85 strike, so they've always been scabs and hated by the mining communities of Derbyshire, Yorkshire and further afield. My own father hated them, but he also hated colliers too 🥴.

Yes you're correct my friend as it was in 1926 at the very height of the general strike that George Alfred Spencer on behalf of the Nottinghamshire Miners Association struck a deal with local mine owners which caused a rift with the Miners Federation of Great Britain. Spencer then led a breakaway from the NMA setting up the Nottingham and District Miners Industrial Union thus breaking the strike.

Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday fall into the same bracket as Derby for me. Don’t care about them.

Main rivals are Mansfield.
Secondary rivals for me would be Notts County and maybe Rotherham

AC, they've certainly got form for it. I worked alongside an ex UDM man, and I think one of the collieries where he was an official was Crown Farm. A high percentage of the miners there didn't miss a shift and this bloke was totally against the 84/85 strike even though Crown Farm was one of the first pits to go. What surprised me,was that he thought he was protecting his members jobs 🤔.
I think Scabfield is a big animal testing facility, only they're using sub-humans in the place of chimpanzees 😁.

Yes mate. They willingly present themselves forward for testing every day in exchange for a gallon of Mansfield Moonshine.
Doesn't it make you thankful that you live this side of the M1?

Certainly does mate. It's one of those towns that I try to avoid like the plague unless we're playing at their U shaped shed. When I was in my prime I had good night's out in most cities and towns around god's own county, but I can safely admit, that I'd rather have a drink in the bog at the back of the old cop at Saltergate than visit any hostelry in Scabfield.

Don't like the Sheffield clubs or Mansfield/Rotherham. Went to school in Matlock so used to go watch Derby a bit, so not too fussed about them either way really. Atleast they're in the right county

Never been too fussed about County - always thought the games against Vale, Bradford, Grimsby, Donny, Stockport etc were better atmospheres/bit more edge - County is just a good day out

Some it's the fans, some it's the club, some it's the fans and the club, but Mansfield it's the fans, club, three sided shed, the town, the beer, and everything else that I can't think of right now 🤣😂.

I took a dislike to County after their fans behaviour after play off final. Arrogance.
