You be the expert Mr Entertainment, what the hell is up with you. Is this board the only place you can have a view because the missus says it’s ok ?

I think Josh is great as the summariser- spots a change in formation and gives a good summary of recent significant play.
PT struggles with his flow, a lot of the time when he's having difficulty to name an opponent on the ball. I think he should sometimes just say 'a red shirt has it' or Josh be on name that player duty.
Or Josh and PT swop roles.

If JM takes over I might even log in even though I’ve subscribed to NL. Having said that I completely disagree that Jacobs was MOTM in the last game when both Colclough & Grimes were H&S above the rest

Maybe that’s why I prefer to watch the match after all…..

Perhaps two of the most whingeing, whining, biased commentators since Sheffield Utd.

Disagree with a few of the posts, i think 1866 and PT's commentary is spot on, yes he favours us but is very fair in his appraisal of the opposition and the game in front of them, go to love last season when a couple of late goals went in and Phil and Jamie screaming their heads off, think a sound byte was shared on here somewhere.

1000% better than the drivel we were served up by the sobbing bloke from Surrey.

That commentary on Saturday was woeful, he was a proper mardbottom.

Phil does ok and he enjoys doing it, when he's away and Josh steps up I prefer his style of commentary but 1866 Sport is Phils baby I and its not something I think Phil would be happy to hand over. Having said that, I like Phil, I like his enthusiasm and his honesty.

We are blessed having our own independant radio commentary, I am not sure any other National League team have it or L2 for that matter.

Me too. The positives far outweigh the negatives imho.

Mine too. But if PT took on board constructive criticism that has been offered, it can only get better.

It would probably be better still if all these with superior knowledge giving constructive criticism would offer up their services to 1866 free of charge too.

Now, let's have a guess at the length of the queue.

Do you think Phil would give up the microphone? I'm not so sure he would. Like I said, he enjoys doing it and if folk dont like listening to it, they dont have to.

Stupid statement. 99.9% of us couldn't commentate for toffee. Having listened to dozens of commentators over the years it doesn't stop me from knowing good commentators from not so good.
So all those complaining about the awful Shots commentator can't complain unless they can commentate and offer their services for free?

The reason for the awfulness of the shots commentator was him behaving like a toddler having a tantrum every time shots touched the ball, not his actual commentary of the passage of play.

Most of it is feedback not particularly criticism. I’m sure 1866 what that.

Nope. For one, it wasn't necessarily his commentary of the game that was the issue, it was his constant whining about things that didn't go the shots way and two what a nonsense statement that you can't complain about something unless you are prepared to do it yourself - flight is delayed, learn to be a pilot then, fuel prices are too high, go and prospect for oil then, food cold, learn to be a chef then etc.

Not really sure why you're explaining that to me. That was my point to dtp.
