Colclough has to start for me, get the ball into him quick and isolate 1v1

I’m assuming - maybe incorrectly - that his ankle has taken another whack. He looked far from comfortable when he came off last night following the challenge in the first half

Must have missed that
So colclough Williams and Grigg lost in one game… makes binning the paint pot off look like the right decision for sure.

I'd go:

Tyrer

Sheckleford (Mandeville if not fit)
Grimes
Palmer
Horton

Naylor
Jones

Dobra
Jacobs
Colclough (Berry if not fit)

Quigley (Assuming Grigg is out)

I like Banks but don't want to see him in a deeper role ever again. Mandeville looked shot to pieces last night so I'd leave him out as well.

Pretty sure Webb said in a couple of interviews we may not see Freckleton again this season but then he also said recently he's been back doing some training with Sheff Utd.

Id expect 7 changes from last night with Grigg,Williams and Colclough injured and tired legs after playing on that pitch. Shecks,Horton and Palmer, Jones and Oldaker,Berry and Quigley all coming in.

Tyrer
Sheckleford-Palmer-Grimes-Horton
Jones-Naylor
Hobson-Dobra-Colclough
Quigley

King
Oldaker
Banks
Berry (Mandeville if Coco injured)
Jacobs

Assuming Grigg is injured, Berry for Colclough if the latter is injured. Don't think Hobson did much last night but did well against Oldham plus he's more of a battler than Jacobs and Mandeville's not been good for a while now. Jones and Naylor both required for the battle. Very concerned with Tshimanga and Ndlovu up against our centre halves.

above all we have to get some control back into our game, we have the ability to do so and minimise what the opposition can do, we also have the ability to get sloppy and give teams chances, i think one or two players have lost a bit of their composure of late, they are human and that winning line has perhaps taken that 1% of composure at times.

Who knows what the team will be with cook. One definite is Quigley Will be starting due grigg's injury other than that it will be pick names or if a hat again and changes galore.

I'm worried that our injury list is bigger. Perhaps Shecks and King both out; Colclough, who was deliberately kicked last night; Williams; Grigg.
Also, I might be in a minority but I think Clements is miles better than Horton.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Clements better than Horton? No chance this season! Horton offers plenty going forward, Clements not so much. Both pretty poor defensively...

Clements is far more constructive going forward and is better defending the far post.

Not sure why you have been negged on this.Agree with you, plus as I have commented several times this season,Horton's first touch is usually poor.

Both are young and inexperienced, but you're right, Horton is untidy with his first touch. I think both will make decent full backs eventually, but it'll take time.

Horton each time for me. He just needs to be coached that he is a full back first and foremost and to not leave grimes constantly exposed by bombing forward all the time. Shecks is far more disciplined and Horton could learn from him.

I wasn’t present at either the Oldham or the Halifax games but it seems Sheckleford had a poor match against Oldham and Mandeville struggled at RB against Halifax. Personally, I’ve not thought RB suits Mandeville when I’ve seen him play there but often thought one of the best partnerships we have on the pitch is his with King. For all his faults and lack of games King has quite a few more assists than Sheckleford this season. So, yes I’d go along with including Jeff in Saturday’s team and I’d like Mandeville to play in front of him if he’s got the legs.

It seems Williams will be missing anyway because of injury so Palmer becomes a shoe-in.

It might help the defence if both Jones and Naylor sit deeper too. Tom covers a lot of ground box to box but he seems to be tiring more in recent games so to play a more restricted game might help him and the team during the final run in.

We only need one point out of six games but the sooner we get it the better.
