What is the record for most doubles in a season as 2 more ticked off with Dagenham and Eastleigh

Nine in 1984/5. I believe.

The perfect scenario for me (though unlikely) would be that neither Rectum, Nutts or the Scabs go up this year, and we over take them all next season and go up as champions.

Win the league and the squad and manager will be heroes.

Break a bunch of records in the process and they will be legends...

Do it again next season and one or two of them may take on Randall or Moss levels of fame!

All we need Stephenson, Moss, Randall, Fenoughty and Holmes and we’d be sailing the league next season. Perhaps even add Dan Archer

Probably should have listed them on the Squad Strengthening thread.

As mentioned elsewhere, promotion the priority but the Trophy as well would have been better than any record.

I'd just like our lads to get some sorta credit.

The media went ga-ga over Salford, Stockport got more than their fair share of coverage, then there was the vomit inducing Wrexham jizz-fest.

But when Town absolutely destroy the division? There seems a collective shrug of the shoulders.

Okay, in a sense it's a 'A club of your size/with Cook in charge should win this league' kinda compliment. Our squad of honest pro's deserve so much more than the passing praise they're getting, though...

To be honest Wrexham and Stockport I’d like up. Imagine both will spend big again next season. With the potential of Reading or Charlton dropping into League 2, the less competition the better.

You’re saying the FA Trophy is better than any record? Don’t be silly.

Many records, including the ultimate accolade of being recognised as the best ever NL team.

There's plenty of records to keep the squad, management and fans, fully engaged until the last whistle of game 46.

I've ranked them in personal order of priority:

1. Record points in the NL (Wrexham 111 2022/23)
2. Go unbeaten at home (have we ever?)
3. Record NL title winning gap (19 points by Luton 2013/14
4. Beat all 23 teams at least once

In no way do I take winning the title for granted. Highly likely, yes. But it's never over, until it's over.

There's some people on the pitch ...... and all that 😍

You won't change my mind. Winning a trophy at Wembley (as we know from the JPT) is difficult to beat. Promotion back to the League is what everyone wanted and the Club and Town needed but record points and goals, unimportant and no financial rewards.

Yes,it's galling isn't it. You would have thought that at least a localish media like Look North would have at least mention this record breaking unbelievable run on their sports report, but nope nothing. Yet they were frothing at Wrexham most weeks. Unbelievable.

One would imagine Wrexham had the Disney media team behind them

Passing praise? I must have missed that!

Which is why I’d love to break the record.. to see if it’s unavoidable to praise us , which we thoroughly deserve.

Completely agree with this. The mainstream media just don't seem interested in what is, a genuine record breaking season.

Last season Wrexham were splattered all over the BBC National League website pages, we get no more than any other team in the league. Should we care though? We have a great community club with incredible support and a team that know and appreciate the fans.

For what its worth there has been fairly regular praise from various football related accounts and people covering football on twitter, the guy that commentates for TNT on our games is always posting to praise what we are doing. In the last week or so i've seen stuff from a couple of the Radio Sheff presenters about what we are doing as well. However things like the BBC Sport page for the National League has a vague rolling stories page and short match reports supplied by outside sources whereas last season you couldnt move for updates on there about Wrexham.

Should we achieve it and break records then I’d suggest a concentrated social media bombardment of BBC Etc!!
