Not many Town fans in the Hope Valley. How us?

Was a Man ure fan at the time, an happened to mention to the old man one day I had just seen Chesterfield destroy Rotherham ( 3-0 ) on ITVs at the time local tv show.

Never thought any more about it, then the Saturday after he took me to Hillsboro when we drew 3-3, with a 93rd minute equaliser! Was hooked, went to the next home game which was a 3-2 defeat by Grimsby, an been a Spireite ever since !

SamosBlue, a Bob's Board member, would be our representative in Greece, though he might be in the UK at the moment. We must have some fans in Cyprus, with the military base there, a Spireite friend of mine used to live there (relatives of Jamie Hewitt).

Samos Blue is back in the UK and has been for at least a year now, living in Rawmarsh though (so not technically normal civilisation!!)

A regular on the East Stand too, I think.

We have some Brazilian spireites as well - http://www.chesterfi...et-1448305.aspx

Think its pretty much guaranteed we have a few in the states as well, in fact there were some visitors to the club from there in the last couple of weeks i think.

I'm up in the top left corner of the US. Brought up in Town (in fraternal proximity to firedodger) and moved to Manchester in 1990. Regular/STH from 1974 until I moved over here in 2005. Doing all I can to pass the obsession on to 2 American born kids.

You picked the wrong one then...I was in the other one a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. ;)

Lived on Cross Street then moved a few blocks away throughout my school years, went to Durham University.

Worked on the East coast of America, before moving to the mid-west [Chicago] before returning to England.

Since then, I've worked in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, before moving onto my current post in Stockholm, Sweden.

I'm just coming to the end of my term as club captain of Hild Bede AFC! Are you a former player?

After my original hometown team Rye United went bust at the end of last season, I became an unrestricted free agent with tendencies for a number of clubs ranging from Newhaven Town to Newcastle United.

I always thought that clubs picked you rather than the other way round. If I wanted to pick Liverpool or Man United to support it wouldn't work as my dna isn't geared up to being a glory-hunting ****. I'm more designed to fit in with clubs that have good and loyal supporters, play a bit of football, don't have much money and shoot themselves in the foot for one reason or another. So that just about fits all the clubs that I've ever connected with, Burnley, Merthyr Town, Boston United, Maidstone, Chesterfield (and even Notts County)in the UK, Breda, Schalke, Lokeren, Dordrecht Sheepheads, Excelsior, Cercle abroad. Just occassionally, one of them gets good. That's ok for a bit, but takes all the fun out of it after a few years. Newcastle got like that under Keegan. One minute you were going along to Cambridge United, Forest, Oxford etc, and the next there were European matches, and you might actually win something. Expecting to win all the time just leaves you with disappointment. Seattle Seahawks I'm still comfortable with, but if we end up being popular, that's no good at all.

Anyhow, I got to about 10 Town matches this year, 8 away, 2 at home and held a decent record: P10, W6, D4, L0. That includes all the cup matches except Derby where I couldn't get a ticket - and as I appeared to be a lucky mascot, I reckon I should get a free season ticket this year to all away games.
