Not seen it mentioned on here -Jack Lester has been appointed assistant coach to Rob Page (although Page probably sacked within weeks I reckon) to the Welsh team.
Not bad for a guy who got a team relegated to non league!

Carson and Allen got us relegated.. the slide was too steep for SJL to stop.

Top bait CPS. Fully aware that mentioning Lester being at the helm for our relegation gets bites, you’ve managed to shoehorn it in once more.

Master of your craft.

Unpopular opinion and I'll preface this by saying I loved Jack Lester as a player a proper club legend however some of his team selections and substitutions in that relegation season were Caldwell like, yeah he was dealt a very crap hand but he didn't help matters at all

Lester was a superb player, but I agree, those away performances at 10 man Vale and Grimsby will long remain etched into the memory of video nasties.

Jack Lester made the signings that got us relegated. It really is as simple as that.

Not going to disagree actually. Some players should become managers, most shouldn't

Was never the right person to be picked to be manager at that time. Picked purely as a desperate attempt by Carson to deflect attention away from him and DA. Carson knew fans were unlikely to turn on Lester because of who he was.

I can’t see him being the main man at another club. Assistant or coach but no higher

Looking at the players be signed- what was his budget for fees and wages- 2 and six?
He could only dream of the cash made available to Rowe and Cook.

The rot set in, when we appointed that well know Welsh after dinner speaker. Great player, but diabolical manager fits him perfectly, a pity he had to prove it with us.

He got us playing good football with a Caldwell team and picking up points. He lost Hird & Evo for the season but didn't sign experienced defenders to replace them, instead he brought in several kids who weren't up for the battle.
His signings, his decisions, his tactics got us relegated. Blame the Sheffield Mafia all you want for everything else regarding our demise but JL as a manager was a complete and utter failure I'm afraid.
