Now we are seeing a team that is the hallmarks of Paul Cook….he’s identified the areas we needed to improve on last season.
He knows he needs total quality in the spine of the team & more so in the final third.
He has built a team now that is becoming clinical that turns potential draws to wins.
If I was the opposition manager and the opposing teams was bringing on Dobra & Colclough to finish a game off….you’d be thinking ‘oh FFS!!!!’
That’s the absolute quality we have now & will lead us to the title

Let’s just enjoy this crest of a wave …there will be bumps along the road, but cream rises to the top

the fire power of the team is frightening, the character and resilience of the team is admiriable, teh footballing quality is excellent... the one area we need to strengthen is that defence, i'm being ultra critical but we give teams chances, sort that and we will walk this league. i said a couple of weeks ago that the biggest threat to us this season is ourselves, i do just worry a bit that when we have to rely on our defence in games we may come undone... 2 big tests this week, rochdale away will be tough, they have acclimatised to national league better than most and i think they'll be up there this season, then the acid test for us, maidenhead away, we don't enjoy that one but strangley i fancy us this season and if we do win it, i think it will breath huge confidence amongst the supporters.

agreed, we did it at ebbsfleet but what i want to feel from this team is that we can win those 1-0's. love the high scoring games because it's exciting but away from home can we do the 1-0's even 0-0's? that is the test for this team.

Why not? Even if we lose 10-0 we’re still 2 pts clear at the top at worst!

Fck that! 3pts are 3pts.
3-2 is just as good as 1-0.

i didn't make my point very clear there, i much prefer an exciting game with goals and if we go through the season winning 3-2 and 4-3 then we'll all look back on it as the most exciting season. there will be times though i'm sure where we will need to dig in and hold or sneak a 1-0, if we can win those kind of games we will walk this league no issue.

Were the ones sitting top and scoring plenty with it. Why on earth would you be worried about playing anybody?

Win these 2 and we're +10 from the same stage last season.

When did we last do 7 wins on the bounce anyone?
Here we go again!

Must be a long time ago, even in the promotion seasons of the past 30+ years ago there was never a run this long.

Well folks, at least its gripping and I've converted a Blade into a Spireite (both sons nicked my shirts and wear them in the house and around Leek). I agree with the OP and cream will rise to the top, from my perspective its all positive.

That season, despite that, despite winning our first 12 homes games on the bounce, and being miles ahead at the top of the league at Christmas, we fell away so badly that we finished a distant 7th.

Not again I don’t think.

I won't be able to go to Rochdale or Maidenhead as I'm in Malta but will certainly be tuning in.

Looks like Jez is doing well for them and nailed on one of the goals we concede in our 9-7 win will be from long time thorn in the side Henderson
