New Manager
New Assistant
New Major Shareholder
New Ground
Superb signings of Mark Allott, Ian Breckin and Drew Talbot
Jack extends his existing contract by 12 months
We bring in the wonder lad, Donal
Last Saturday's gate - 3,386, down 9.2% on last season when Rico was in charge!
Where were all the stayaways that weren't coming back until BH sacked Rico, found something else to do, found another excuse not to attend or were/are they just skint and couldn't/can't afford to attend?
It just goes to show, it was easier to blame Rico than admit you're skint.
Pathetic.

WHo were the away team? that could make a big difference in the figures. Away support is the big differential in attendances.

Why are you on this rico crusade?
He didnt do well enough in his 2 and a bit seasons, the football on offer was, with exceptions, unconvincing,as was many of his loan signings.
The fella has gone, look forward to the new era, not the last.

You get into a habit of watching town, but once you break that habit you start doing something else which then becomes the new habit. You have to get folks to break that new habit before they blindly just start turning up again. We need a long winning home run. A victory tomoz would make a few people take notice a defeat and .........

Spot on Ern, and YES Rico is part to blame as a lot of folk gave up the habit in the two and a half years he was in charge. They will take a really good season to win most of them back and this won't be until the latter few games for the large part of them.

I think the whole atmosphere surrounding the club in the last two years has poisoned people's match-day experience. It will take results to get people back - not hype.

I am not skint, far from it thankfully, but its a time issue with me, the fact I am just about to start another business means there needs to be 25 hours a day at the mo lol.
But I admit it was easy to blame richardson an hubbard for not attending, however now the club is making more of an effort to give us a team we are proud to support, so I will although living 200 miles away, and having not much spare time make the effort to attend some games this season!
I do feel, that once the stay aways come back it could again hopefully, become an addiction like it was in the past.

What's there to be convinced about, Rico was the problem, he's gone.
I think Rico has to take some of the blame but the majority of the blame must lie with Hubbard, he appointed him on a 2 year deal, he failed to take action when it was obvious to most people that Rico was not up to the job. The apathy within it's dwindling supporters is down to Hubbard and no one else

There were numerous threads last season stating that if Rico went they’d return. Many members on here claimed that they ‘knew’ loads of other fans that felt the same. The economic crisis was laughed off as nothing more than the ‘rose tinted brigade’ shifting blame, yet with a decent away following by Northampton coupled with the many positives as mentioned in your opening post, why was there such a low turnout?
I can hear the opposition chants already. "Attend yhen your winning, you only attend when your winning"

Now there's a suprise, a post from Fishini slating BH. Wonders never cease
I, as last season, blamed the credit crunch for part of the reason attendances were down. I got slated for it at the time, perhaps i was correct, or maybe the fact that so many people are skint, have lost their jobs and are stuggling to pay their bills still has nothing to do with it.

Tell you what next time I will pm you and make sure what I say is the same as your opinion shall I? after all I don't want to talk out of line do I? I have a better idea lets put everyones posts through a filter and any that are out of line with your philosophy can be deleted before any damage is done

Quite. Face it he ain't gonna start watching Town anytime soon.
I think us Chesterfield folk are generally cynical types and a summer of decent news isn't going to be enough for people to forget 2 years of poor value fare.
