So you would be prepared to pay extra to subsidise the half a bus or would you expect the club to run travel every week and operate at a loss?

If folk want to go they book, if they leave it until the coach(es) are full it's a good excuse not to go and a good excuse to have a moan on a thread. There are examples of it every away game last season. Usually the same ones every week who always wanted to go but the coach was full lol

Do the company that provide the coach service (not sure who it is) not provide minibuses aswell?

If so could we not come up with some sort of arrangement to have a minibus aswell and if need be upgrade to a bus?

charge everybody extra pound every trip. over season , they wouldnt loose out . only the club profit would loose out. not the fans, thats when a cheaper coach company could be found,

diffcult, since the company wouldn't be able to use whatever we didn't use for another job. If I was Mr Busman, I'd be unwilling to tie up two of my vehicles, knowing that only one will be used.

Surely though a minibus has pretty similar operating costs to a 52 seater? So, if it is needed better to put a coach on with the possiblility of 50 paying passengers rather then 20.

I would also say that most bus companies, operating at a profit woldn't have buses sat around, with drivers twindling their thumbs.

A bus does about 8mpg a mini bus does about 24 mpg. The economics of a coach becomes more attractive- the more you fill it.

Mini bus 12 seats coaches 39 and upwards, soon becomes more economical to run a coach. It's a very complicated equation because you have drivers hours etc to consider especially if it is a good distance to be travelled.

In these circumstances the coach company should sub contract the small numbers to a mini coach firm by having them on standby for a small fee. There are enough mini buses on saturday not doing school runs. It's dead easy if someone really puts the effort in.

Last minute bookings are always going to happen depending on domestic circumstances. Maybe an online booking service would encourage people to book if they could see seats were getting scarce.

Maybe our new dynamic Commercial Dept should do the travel 'in house' and take all the profit instead of a fee from True Blue.
