I doubt we'll be interested in that. Better still, bowl 'em out for fifty in the morning. Notoriously poor pitches there still.

Nope....suspect neither side will be interested in anything other than picking up as much as they can and not losing. That said....roll them out twice quickly will be nice!!

From a club point of view...i'm still trying to decide if i'm capable of playing in both games we have this weekend!! Away to Ockbrook in the league on Saturday followed by Staveley in the cup at home on Sunday. Bearing in mind the Sundays after the two i've played so far i've barely been able to walk the possibility of fielding for 50 overs isnt an enthralling one!!

Can't you arrange a sub fielder to cover a mysterious 'injury' once you've bowled your overs on Sunday?

Derbyshire won toss and bowling with an unchanged side. Apparently as its now a 2 day game the team batting second has to be within 100 to avoid the follow on rather than 150.

Doesn't seem a bad track looking at the score unless we are bowling like a drain.

Not a good game for Mark Ramprakash. Bet he hadn't made many pairs in first class cricket. Always good to see Surrey get thrashed.

Decent fightback from Derbyshire in the end. Took 5 wickets for just under 50 runs in the later part of the day.

Could see a run chase today if both sides agree to it

I was pretty concerned about DCCC last season when changes in team management and Chairmanship were made, but I shouldn’t have as the club’s restructuring has resulted in us having a much improved squad that appears better balanced. Perhaps John Morris deserves some credit as does Andy Brown, but I think Karl Krikken is the right man to take the club forward.
If only....

No run chase but full batting points as Derbyshire declared on 403 for 9. Centuries for both Durston and Redfern

after losing three early wickets

Meanwhile in Bristol, the Mighty White Rose did do the forfeit of innings and are now bearing down on the top of the table! :D

Johnny, I like you man, I really do, but do the decent thing and start following the county where you reside, and the home of your football club.

Come on, you know you want to!! ;)

Okay mate, fair do's.

I think you've actually mentioned something about that before. You have valid reason, and I was only saying it in jest really. Loyalties are hard to break, we know that better than most, following CFC.

Dan Redfern is turning into a serious player. Scoring runs quickly too which he looked incapable of a few years ago.

Yep appears to be starting to fulfill the potential he showed as young lad playing England under whatever's. What is good is that we appear to be batting a long way down. Likes of groenwald and Palladino getting handy runs at 10 & 11.

Club wise...lost a close game at ockbrook yesterday. Bowled out for 130 but had them 7 down when they got over the line. Interesting track where a few got bowled by ones that hit the base of the stumps...we'd be crucified if that track was at our place but because it's one if the big clubs it'll be ok. Also on the wrong end of a few tight calls that could have turned it our way.

Give it time! Derbyshire will fade away like they always do! Watch out for Essex and Hampshire to kick into gear.

What's the ground like at Ockbrook? Never played or even been there.

Decent setup as you would expect for the club they are. Two pitches so two games going off yesterday which makes it lively. Only second time I've been there in 20 years of playing!!

Just managed to make it through our double weekend. Managed 18 not out followed by 5-16 as we beat Staveley in the cup. We got 172 then bowled them out for 80.
