Heard a few titbits today. Some outstanding targets linked and expected to sign, and nice to hear that we’ve got a few players lined up who are League 1 and 2 players.

Conn-Clarke is a target, but he’s after League 1 football apparently so we will have to see.

Realistically as a club where do you expect us to be in 5 seasons time?

I look at Lincoln, who traditionally are a tiny bit smaller club than us in terms of support and they are fighting for the playoffs in League 1. They have a good group of young players and play quick attacking football.

They have rebuilt the side 2/3 times since the Cowleys departed and despite losing the playoff final a couple of years ago they remain a very competitive side at that level.

I’d snap your hands off right now to be in that position.

I think as a club I’d like to see steady progress year on year. I don’t want to be ever in a position where we realistically have fears of returning back to this god forsaken hell of a league.

Looking at the League 1 table didn’t realise how close these are to the drop zone. New manager seems to be really unpopular and the fans seem to think they will go down.

Rather have these down at the expense of Cheltenham.

Altrincham Id like to see up, but won’t begrudge Aldershot or Barnet coming up either as both have been decent fans and opponents this year.

Oldham, Solihull and Bromley need to spend more seasons in this league.
