Be interesting to see what team Southport put out and the difference between a league below. What’s interesting is a lot of the National League South and North sides fielded weaker squads last Saturday, so it’s obvious even the level below us it’s not a priority for most.

I was so excited about this trophy I forgot about the draw until just now. Thank god for another home draw although its a long time since I went to see Town play there.. I go to the match just to put money on the gate, but I will not be bothered if we lose.

We have a big enough squad to take this cup seriously. Success breeds success. At max we will probably not play more than 55 games even if we get to the Final. We may end up playing twice a week. If you want to bow out of it throw a game in a later round when congestion becomes more obvious. Mandeville, Grimes, Naylor, Grigg, Jones can have a rest. Cooky should pick his best team from the rest. Quigley, Berry, Dobra and Colclough need for various reasons to play.

The next two rounds are on dedicated Saturdays so I don’t see the issue either. The round after is where the congestion could start but it has already be pointed out we may lose that fixture anyway if our opposition progresses.
Where are
Don’t think anyone is saying it is a priority though. Pity we don’t have those four lads at Matlock available. It would be great to see how they do playing with some experienced squad players.
