really old newspaper article from Gazzette October 26th 1986

Strange as it sounds it was used as an underlay in my bedroom. We're talking back in the days when the Daily Mirror was on 15p.

There were 2 articles the first was about Chesterfield being top of Division 4 and being on the best run in the last 2 decades the second article was about Chesterfield winning against Exeter City 5-1.

Can anyone remember this??

October 25th 1986 we played newport c here at the rec and won 3 - 2,Reid,Baines and Caldwell in front of a massive 1895 crowd.

That game versus Exeter was in 1984/5 on 20th October,with Brown,Kendall,Moss,Spooner and Hunt scoring,gate was 3457 and we was champions of div 4 that season...

obviously can't remember a bit young but are you telling me your carpet has just changed after 22 years..

that must have been some quality carpet pal..

and how much paper was under there to act as an effective underlay???

Duralay is far more effective mate!

it was pal it was placed under a wardrobe which was screwed to the wall so there was little reason to move it till now. original paint on the walls still.

Yes was a quality carpet. had to pull the rest up when we have new boiler and radiator in last year

one layer with the odd bits overlapping. we are talking when i was a nipper.

Duralay is far effective but it all depends on what you can afford at the time.

isn't there a wallpaper that is designed to have newspaper cut outs on it??
