Watched Ryan Williams playing for Hall Road Rangers earlier this season. He's a bit portly nowadays, but plays in a midfield playmaker/quarterback kind of role (so less running required). Was a decent bloke when we spoke to him after the game, spoke fondly of his time at CFC.

Never will forget his role in the 4-0

Installed Championship Manager 01/02 with an update for players from October. Absolutely ripping the Conference to bits. Denton and Wedgbury absolute stars.

that's good to know lol bring it on when we finally start again

my VHS retro match tonight was live on the big match on ITV in 1988 Liverpool 1 Everton 1 although Liverpool were lucky when Wayne Clarke had a good header disallowed at the far post

Other observations from 32 years ago 5 minutes at the beginning and end of the match for the pundit Trevor Francis to talk about the match

the score is not continually on the screen only every 15 minutes or so or after a goal is scored and finally the number of shell suits in the crowd lol

Just found out the tape continues with a midweek sports special with highlights of 2 league cup matches because there was no live midweek football on tv in those days

tonights vhs retro match is the match of the day which included a certain match v FOREST IN 1997

the forest team included of course Mark Crossley Steve Blatherwick and a certain Dean Saunders and we all remember who the referee was

Not surprisingly it was the first match to be featured on the programme with Johm Motson as commentator

Three things stood out for me in the match

Jonathan Howards flying header in the first half which was blocked by Mark crossley and his miss in the second half when he went round the sub keeper Fettis and then fluffed his shot in the area

Darren Carrs header which beat the keeper but was headed onto the bar and away by Dean saunders

Also The Forest Manager Stuart Pearce was full of praise for our play and attitude after the match

Whittman. I fear that football deprivation has disturbed the balance of his mind!

Thanks for your concern but I am only trying to bring a bit of light relief to this board in this troubled time lol

I hope this is still okay with you and you are keeping safe and well

For your information this afternoon I am about to watch a video re run of the 1997 semi final at Old Trafford

Watching the prematch build up I had forgotten how biased the pundits were with shwartzer Pallister and bruce in the studio with Richard keys remember him lol its as though we were not worthy of being there

Glad you're ok 😂
I'm treating it like the close season. I don't feel a desperate need to watch any football atm especially recordings!

On a slightly different tack, but still relevant I think, ex-Spireites seem to be featuring prominently on sports radio at the moment. In the last week or so I've heard quite lengthy interviews with Ian Evatt, Paul Cook, and Sean Dyche, on Talk Sport and Five Live. They've actually had Evo on more than once. I don't think I'm being biased when I say they all came across extremely well.

Add Paul Warhurst in their line up.

Having withdrawal symptoms with not being able to moan about crap refs. Their 2nd was a result of the linesman awarding us a throw in at the kop/Compton St. corner, the end we was defending the incident being right in front of him only for Frazier (not G) Stretton to award it to them. A Grimsby player facing Stretton spotted this grabbed the ball and threw it to the unmarked scorer in the box with the town players reacting to the flag and moving upfield accordingly and all out of position.
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.
