Bit harsh to take it out on him/her/they isn't it?

They've only just started to cover the club properly after an hiatus of 20 years

Woodward and Bernstein they ain't.

Two weeks into covering the club, so forgive me if I haven't been up to speed on that obviously complex and bizarre story. Although no, I feel no shame whatsoever.

As some board users can confirm, I started looking into this, although the supporters I contacted didn't want to speak to us, instead opting (as is their right) to give the club time to look into it themselves.

What will go in next week's paper, I can't say, I'll be away. But my superiors are aware of the story and I believe the newsdesk are working on something.

And with respect to my employers, colleagues and Chesterfield FC, if I was either Woodward or Bernstein, I might have gone a little further in the industry than this position by now.

Maybe you need to request an interview with the CEO? Ask some questions about the DC, Bingham, CCJs, Hire Vans payments outstanding, players coming from Brentford being touted as DC products etc, AlNasser?

I suspect a club statement will be forthcoming. The club are aware DT are looking into it, because one of the supporters I contacted let them know.

Graham,

From the outset, supporters only had one common goal, to protect the image of Chesterfield Football Club. The club has some good employees, volunteers and supporters who have worked immensely hard over the past 15/16 years to restore our credibility in football.

Over the past three and a half weeks a lot of research has been conducted. The vast majority that has been done on Bingham has been forwarded to the club a good 24-48 hours before it was posted on here. Certainly there is some information that hasn't been made public and ironically, it is quite possible that the final piece of the jigsaw will never be seen by supporters. We felt it important to keep the club up to date with developments and that included media interest in the story.

If I could offer some advice to your newspaper and those whose job it was to cover Chesterfield, the time to research this subject was three and a half weeks ago, not now after supporters have done the leg work and the story has become safe to touch.

Have a good Sunday.

I suppose the question then should be "have you asked the CEO or owner for an interview?"

My understanding is that interviews have been requested. I personally don't think CT will do an interview about this whilst he's sweating over relegation. If the picture brightens he might well think he can take advantage of the situation. If we get relegated, he should be off anyway.

Be interesting to see if there's owt about Bingham in the DT this week - or anywhere else for that matter!

Rumour has it journo's have been told not to touch the CEO's latest humiliation under threat of being banned.

Wouldn't surprise me. Presumably the DT would toe the line too.

Print it anyway if they have any belief in the value of their trade.
