AC confirms some of the Clucas 'windfall' will go towards the squad budget:

https://www.chesterf...help-spireites/

some will be used to reduce the reliance on DA and some will go towards loan repayments (again, presumably DA is at the front of the queue?)

Maybe it could be used to bring in a few more backroom staff lol ?

I like the bit about the final payment from Forest for Ariyibi. I bet they're right chuffed at having to pay that.

I'm puzzled by a few things. He is saying we don't need to go to Allen for money, and that the club would be run in such a way as to achieve this. I believe it's been said that significant cash savings have been made. It's been said that Carson is basing things on 5000 a week crowd.
Why then, when the club had 7000 crowds and several million in player sales didn't Carson do the same?

I seem to recall AC/CT/DA saying 30% of the previous £5 million received in transfer fees would be re-invested in the squad with the balance going on debt reduction and we all know how that's worked out!

So forgive me for being sceptical about anything AC says or whether Caldwell will actually see a penny of it....

I see that the deal seems to be made up of cash plus Swansea's left back, Stephen Kingsley going to Hull. Do we get 5% of him? Would that be his left leg?

Let's be honest; all it does is delay the arrival of the next day we run out of cash.

True.
How about this for a fantasy?

John and Mike decide we now have sufficient funds to be independent for 12 months, so they vote poor old Ashley off the Board and ask Friends of CFC to invest. What would DA do then?
Go for it boys!!
In reality, that would involve them being allowed to look at the accounts.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

BBC reports an undisclosed fee for Kingsley, which undoubtedly offset what the swans have had to lay out. So the 16 million stands as far as I'm aware.

Interesting comment from Clucas in his interview at Swansea, said while here at Town he was talking to two other clubs in the same league as Town about a move then after the friendly against Hull they came in with a bid. Would seem that either Clucas was not happy or the club were touting him around for sale.

Yes if we didn't give permission for him to speak to the clubs concerned it would be an illegal approach as he still had a year on his contract

Or he could just have been playing well and a team like Sheff utd might have been sniffing. Clucas never gave anything nut 100% for us in a number of positions so to suggest he wasn't happy is probably a lot wide of the mark and unfair on the lad

You're right.

Infact the last three years have shown us it was far more likely that CFC were touting him around.

But of course it always suits certain agendas to blame the player...

He certainly did do well for us. He joined us at a good time and without any doubt whatsoever moved on at the right time.

It is nice to see a good lad with a nice attitude progress and do well for himself.

Wigan were definitely in for him at the time!
